Exceeds expectations!!!
Better than expected!! Works on our 2010 Silverado, 2008 Impala, and even on a 1995 Blazer. On the two newer vehicles it shows a TON of live engine data and was able to pull and erase the ABS codes. The Blazer also showed live data, just not as much, and it could not read the ABS. For ABS it has you select the vehicle and it only listed Ford for 1995 Trucks. My understanding is 95-96 is when GM switched to OBD2 so we got lucky on the engine codes, just not ABS. The manual lists 5 pages of live data it can display depending on the vehicle. This includes voltages at certain sensors, engine load and RPM, fuel trims, temperatures of fluids and intake air. Great data for troubleshooting engine problems that might not trip a trouble code. Not sure why but both Autozone and Tires Plus were unable to pull codes on the Blazer. This reader immediately found an O2 sensor code and through the live engine data we were able to diagnose the engine problems. My only complaint is that the text on screen is small and there is no backlighting so it can be difficult to read. But in decent lighting it's not a problem.

Worth it for a DIY mechanic looking to be cheap
The scanner worked exactly as expected. Will you get as much with this scanner vs one that costs $200? No, but that's not exactly a surprise. I was able to read the check engine codes for our 2002 F-150, 2000 Toyota Sienna, and 2003 Impala. It gave a good description of what was wrong with the codes, and I was easily able to clear them when I resolved the problems. The best feature about this scanner is its ability to read ABS codes though, and that is the main reason I bought it. I was not able to find a cheaper alternative that could read ABS codes. It was able to tell me why my light was on in my F-150 and Impala. This is a valuable tool for any DIY mechanic hoping to save a few bucks, and when you couple it with a bluetooth scanner that you can connect to your android phone you will have everything you need to diagnose most problems. Also, we bought ours through Amazon which was eligible for prime shipping and had absolutely no problems with it doing what I described above.

How to use for ABS.
I want to make a point of clarification for the people that wrote that it doesn't work to check ABS on their vehicle. I bought this a year ago and was pissed when I thought it couldn't either only to realize I wasn't setting it up correctly. It is a little confusing. When asking about ABS codes it gives the options of OBD2/EOBD, US, EUROPE, and ASIA. I initially chose OBD2/EOBD and I also was greeted with the ABS not detected. I then went in and chose US and it asked for year, make, and model in which my case was a 2001 Buick LeSabre and then it worked fine. I'm guessing that was also the case with the other negative users. I've used it on many others since and checked it both ways and it always worked going through the US path. I have not checked on an Asian or European vehicle yet, so don't know for that. Not even what the OBD2/EOBD pick is for as it has never linked on any I have tried. Otherwise works great.

however this tool works great and fits my purpose The pros @ $60 you ...
Well in my opinion, what the OTC 3208 can do, it does well... The cons in my book are,” a lack of backlight which believe it or not is a standard on a Walmart scan tool I bought for $20, and @ $60 I wish there was a way to be able to update the tool using the internet... for this reason I kept 1 star, however this tool works great and fits my purpose The pros @ $60 you can read ABS, Live Data and, OBD2 global, and it’s also OTC I’ve seen a Bosch version with the same platform and features for $40 more... that’s why I gave it at least 4 Stars for the price and value It works great all in all Great for beginners, intermediate, and diy guys👍

Best motor code fixer and reset that dont need updates that fail on cheap ones
Otc is a good brand garages use it. Dont want to go to the obd 11 for a few more dollars and have to do updates. Half of them on updates get worse or dont work. This will do it all as far as resetting tranny codes haven't seen one that will reset in the upper cheaper models. A snapon for about 5000 dollars that's the big hand held does it all. New vehicles are total junk on tranny change. Get a snapon or pay a dealer 250 to reset .while your at it get a scanner to and a friend to drive around with so you can read the scanner while he drives. All new trannies have to be driven to reprogram shift points. Must be done right most dealer mechanics need to go back to school. Not 3000 miles and tranny is back to normal. It a quick process not a forever one. 6 speeds are junk get a real good tranny rebuilder. A junk yard tranny stay away buy a new suv or go back to old school antique cars. Once the the tranny is reprogrammed and shifts are hard your tranny needs a rebuild. Sensors will stop it from shifting. 3 sensors to a 6 speed. What ever ones are not working any two gears that dont shift. A snapon will do it read the input to the output sensors and shaft sensor and a real code will pop. Motor this is all you need to change parts to the codes your showing and reset computer light and your good to go. Google the code change your part reset and drive you should be good this is all you need.

OTC3208 is junk, garbage & doesnt work. FRAUD/DECEIT/SCAM
This OTC 3208 OBD2 scanner is garbage & doesnt work nor will give you any DTC Engine code or Transmission code. ITS FRAUD, SCAM, DECEIT. Dont throw your money away. Any local part store will scan your car for free. I had 4 service engine code Oreilly auto parts, but the OTC3208 COULD not SHOW any code (NOT ONE). several pins missing. The company who sale this OTC3208 name AUTO BODY NOW is also engaging in Fraud, Scam, Deceit. its better you throw your money out the window. DONT BUY ANYTHING FROM AUTO BODY NOW. DONT BUY this otc3208.

Excellent value for the price. The screen is small and ridiculously basic, but again for the price it's absolutely fine. I got everything what I wanted to know about the ABS issue in my Chevy Blazer and fixed it right away. This scanner saved me a lot of money and time.

Does its job as an obd2 reader but be warned, it does not read ABS codes from all makes and models. Only certain manufacturers for certain model years. There is no list of compatible vehicles available so the only way to know is to plug it in and try to read the abs codes. I was disappointed it could not read the code from my 2004 Nissan Frontier

OTC has always been top-of-the-line when it comes to diagnostics; I still have an old system for OBD1 (ALDL). 2005 Buick Rendezvous Read and cleared both engine and ABS codes. Live data worked well and was interesting to watch; will come in handy for basic troubleshooting, but obviously isn't as comprehensive as more expensive units. For the price, a very good buy and very useful tool.
