Hatchimals, HatchiBabies Cheetree, Hatching Egg with Interactive Toy Pet Baby (Styles May Vary), for Ages 5 and Up

My daughter asked for this for Christmas and we purchased it thinking it would be like most toys she has--adored for a day or two and then forgotten. Instead, this has become one of her favorite toys of all time. The hatching experience was really captivating and then the robotic animal is so well programmed that we all fell in love with it. The sound effects are great and it is life-like enough that she really thought of it as her baby. She would get stressed when it cried, she asked us to babysit it when she had to leave it for a short while, and she generally cared for it like a mother. Instead of casting it aside after a few days, she loved it constantly for two months until it broke. She was devastated but the company is great and has agreed to send us a new one. This was one of our best all time toy purchases and the toy designers deserve many kudos. This is a high compliment given that we have historically banned talking toys from our house, yet we are eagerly awaiting the arrival of the replacement Hatchibaby.

Excellent present for my 6 year old. The hatching process was so exciting for her and she just loves taking care of it. It makes the sweetest little sounds and she loves that you can talk to it and it responds. Would recommend for little girls for sure!

My granddaughter really loves her hatchimal that I gave her for Christmas. She got a different one last year and when I saw this one on Amazon I just had to get for her. It is so cute with the little swing and it turned out to be a baby boy. Her mom is also having a boy. So it was perfect. Best price I found.

My girls were so excited to get these on christmas! They hatched faster than we expected. The games they play are a little glitchy and hard to follow but they're cute. The one gets hungry a lot but the mouth sticks and my daughter struggles to feed it unless I can get the mouth open with my fingernail. They love the nonetheless and I'm sure I'll buy more!

I bought this gift for my niece who was turning 5. We read the directions before opening. The experience was so worth every penny. Everyone was on the edge of their seat as the girls at the party took turns warming and rubbing the egg. Eventually, the egg will crack as you give it warmth. It was really cool because it rocked around and made noices before it was ready to show itself. It came with several accessories and is ready to play once it's out of its shell. The bottom of the shell Is kept as it's high chair for when they need a time out, I thought that was really clever. This toy needs lots of love! It's like a new age furby. Definately looking at other hatchimals for future gifts.

These seem to be hit or miss based on the reviews, but I'm happy to say ours was a hit! It only took about 15 minutes to hatch, you have to hold it and rub it all over. It seemed like the more you did that, the quicker the process went. Once it hatched my daughter loved playing with it. It comes with a sheet that tells you what it means when it's eyes turn various colors. It even sings this really addicting song and was dancing for 10 minutes which was cool. Almost a week later and my 4 year old still plays with it. So contrary to some reviews saying the fun is over once it hatches, that wasn't the case for us. Happy with the purchase!

I had been waiting to order this for months, hoping that my daughter would stop asking for it, because it seemed overpriced and has mixed reviews. Although she was thrilled to finally get it as one of her birthday gifts, the hatching process turned out to be a big disappointment. We expected it to mostly work its own way out of the shell, without us having to forcibly pull off most of the shell ourselves. After about 20 minutes of us cuddling, rocking, rubbing, and tapping on the egg as instructed, the Hatchimal suddenly stopped doing anything at all. No movement, noise, or light. We couldn't get it to wake up, no matter what we did. After about ten minutes of trying to figure out what was going on, part of the shell softened enough to come open when we picked at it, and my daughter pulled the shell off piece by piece. When we got the Hatchimal out, I had to use the switch to turn it off and back on to get it to do anything. It was very anticlimactic. It did come back on after that and was interactive, but the hatching part is supposed to be the highlight of this toy, and instead it left us wondering if we got a faulty product. I still don't think it's worth its price, although adults seem to be somewhat pickier about things actually working like they are supposed to than kids are.

I gave this to my 7 year old niece for her birthday and she was so excited and happy! It was by far her favorite gift. Her words not mine. Definitely worth the money as her Mom was trying to guess the price and was doubling what I actually paid for it. I would buy this again in a heartbeat.
