The Logitech MX Vertical Wireless Mouse is an outstanding ergonomic mouse that truly reduces wrist and forearm strain. Thank you :) Vertical mice have been around for some time now, but this is the first one Logitech has ever created. Logitech is known for making very nice, high quality peripherals at an affordable price. Their MX line for lack of a better term is their flagship line and typically comes at a higher cost. But at that high cost you’re getting better features, a built-in battery, a unique/premium design and the overall craftsmanship is just better. And this mouse is no different. Overall the body of the mouse is composed from a plastic polymer which allows it to be equal parts durable and light as it comes in at around 135 grams. The portion of the mouse where your hand rests on and interfaces with has this nice texturized, rubber coating. This texturized surface allows for improved grip and allows the overall end user experience to be that much more comfortable. The MX vertical mouse has 6 buttons in total, 4 of which are customizable via Logitechs downloadable application. Along the right edge is standard left and right buttons and in between is the scroll wheel. The scroll wheel is depressible, customizable and has that same rubber coating as the rest of the mouse. It is buttery smooth, has a subtle click and feels so nice when turning it. Along the left edge there is two more customizable buttons. These are just above where your thumb lies and are easy to reach, even if you have smaller hands. Along the top edge just adjacent Logitech’s branding is our last customizable button. This is also easily within reach and comes setup as a DPI adjuster out of the box. This button allows you to toggle between 2 different DPI settings, both of which can be adjusted by holding down the button and moving the mouse. The DPI range of this mouse is extremely impressive. It can cover as low as 400 dots per inch or a maximum of 4000 dots per inch. This is helpful for a few reasons: firstly the higher the DPI you can achieve the more area you can cover when moving your mouse. This is convenient when you have a larger monitor such as an ultrawide or when using a 4k monitor as you can cover more pixels with less movement. Higher DPI is usually emulated via settings within the software but this results in less smooth movement which is important for professional work or while gaming. And less movement feeds into the main ideology of this mouse. Higher dpi allows for less movement which is less strain on your wrist, resulting in a more comfortable experience. This is the main reason why this mouse exists: to minimize strain on your wrist and increase the overall comfort. It does this by allowing for a higher DPI range but mainly by altering the way your hand rests on the mouse. The average mouse orients your hand parallel with the surface. In order to achieve this position your forearem twists and is forced into a pronated position. This causes stress on a major muscle in your wrist, the pronator quadratus. This muscle (along with the pronator teres) is responsible for turning your wrist inward and maintaining this pronated position. Not only is your wrist stressed but in order to maintain this position your elbow is forced to flare away from your body causing a secondary strain on your deltoid, which in turn causes a tertiary strain on your upper back near your scapula. In order to relieve this strain, Logitech has re-oriented the angle at which your hand rests on the mouse. Rather than being parallel with the surface, the mx vertical mouse is oriented at a 57-degree angle. This is a more natural position for your wrist to be in and helps reduce strain greatly. Not only does this reduce the strain in your wrist, it also helps keep your elbow tucked closer to your body, allowing your deltoid to relax, and further preventing it from causing strain on your upper back. In terms of connecting the mouse you have 3 options: you can connect wirelessly via Bluetooth or with this included usb dongle. And lastly you can hard wire in with the included USB type-C cable. The usb type c port also allows for charging. The mouse has a 240mAh battery and Logitech claims you can get 4 months of battery life on a single charge and I actually think this is accurate. Over the 35 days I have owned this mouse, I have used it 2-6 hours on a given day and have put roughly 80 hours of use on my first charge. And according to logitech’s desktop application my battery is still near full. Only time will tell if it actually survives 3 more months without needing to reach for the cable but as of now it’s excellent! The MX vertical mouse is also capable of connecting up to 3 devices as it has an easy-switch selector on the bottom. This is nice if you’re wanting to use this across multiple computers and it switches effortlessly whether you’re on a pc or mac. Overall this mouse is great. It attempts to provide a more comfortable, ergonomic experience and reduce strain in your wrist and I have to be honest I was skeptical at whether or not this would even achieve that goal. I mean I’ve never had any wrist issues before would I actually benefit from this? The answer is a resounding yes. After using this mouse for just over a month I can comfortably say this mouse will provide you with a more comfortable experience and it will make you aware that you are causing stress to your wrist. Just transitioning from the mx vertical mouse to my keyboard, I can feel a drastic difference in my wrist. It immediately becomes strained when typing and relief is found when I go back to using the mouse. If you have any wrist or arthritic issues definitely give this mouse a look, it may just provide the relief you need. I know I won’t be going away from mine anytime soon.

Other not completely flat mice claim to be "ergonomic", but the only way to completely remove stress from your forearm when using a mouse is with a "vertical" mouse. My 2020 K75575WW Kensington ergonomic vertical mouse developed a problem with the left button "stuttering" so that it sent multiple button clicks when pressed just once. I liked the Kensington quite a bit. But it always just a little bit on the "not quite as solid as I would like" side, and failing after just 2.5 years confirmed this. So I wanted a more solidly build mouse. A search for "ergonomic mouse review" showed that the Logitech MX Master 3S was clearly the best ergonomic mouse available. At $100 it was several times more expensive as others including the latest Kensington vertical mouse. But sometimes furgal doesn't mean the least expensive. Sometimes it can mean the most expensive if that comes with better performance, features and lifespan. So I ordered it. And while it is indeed an incredible mouse, the angle is only about 20 degrees. The result is that while there is some reduction in forearm stress compared to a flat mouse, it wasn't enough for me. By the end of my very long days driving my mouse almost as much as I drive my keyboard, I could feel the tension building up in my forearm. So after a week I returned it and bought this Logitech MX Vertical. It is slightly less expensive than the MX Master 3S, but still much more expensive relative to other options. And while it is lighter and a little less substantial feeling in my hand than the MX Master 3S, it still feels very firm and solid. Most importantly keeps my hand in the neutral position with my fingers at about 70 degrees. A great feature of the MX Vertical shares with the MX Master 3S is the thumb rest. The Kensington didn't have this and so my thumb rested on the desktop. If it was a bit warm and my hands would sweat my thumb wouldn't slide smoothly and I would have to lift my thumb off the desk when I went to move the mouse. Not a horrible thing, but if you spend 8+ hours mousing around it gets tiresome. The button clicks are crisp. Best of all when the button bottoms out it feels like it is pressing against the case. It doesn't feel like travel is being limited by the switch itself bottoming out like the Kensington felt like it did. My hope is that this will keep the switch from wearing out so fast as happened with the Kensington. One slight negative of the MX Vertical is that I don't feel like I am quite as accurate in being able to move the cursor to a specific spot on the screen without some amount of conscious effort. Instead it doesn't go exactly in the direction I intended and overshoots where wanted it to stop. As such it might not make the best mouse for video games. [UPDATE: There is a bit of a learning curve in moving the mouse accurately. In the last couple weeks my need to make a more conscious effort to move the mouse to a specific spot on the screen is going down. Still think it is likely to not be as accurate as a flater mouse]

I had mainly used a MX Master 2S before this and because of my heavy usage I did start to feel uncomfortable after a few hours of use every day and that's when I decided to purchase MX Vertical. Now after almost 9 months of usage this has become the mouse I use on a daily basis, completely replacing MX Master 2S. Comfort: It took me about a day or two to really get used to using it because of the positioning and ever since then my wrist has never felt any discomfort, literally. I don't have a mouse pad but because of the angle that my wrist is contact with the desk when I use it, this has never been a problem. What I also love about the ergonomic design is that my hand can actually just rest on it when not doing specific tasks, and it just fits my palm perfectly. Functionality: I don't use it for gaming so I can't comment on that. However, comparing it with my Master 2S, there are some very obvious disadvantages. If you use Excel sheets a lot, or anything that requires horizontal viewing, the scrolling option is terrible. You can set up the function key on Logi Options+ and I use the side buttons for scroll right+left mainly because how easy it was to use with the Master 2S's side scrolling buttons. It is not comparable at all. With Master 2s, horizontal scrolling is smooth and precise. With this, it's basically useless. There are sites that just aren't responsive to the side buttons and when they do, you can never get to the precise point you want. Huge disappointment with that because I don't really use the side buttons for anything else. There is also no scrolling control with the middle button unlike the Master 2S, so you can't really scroll vertically as fast as you can when using Master 2S either. However I do use the middle button sometimes to just do the job for me so I'm ok with its basic functionality. The top button is mainly used as a look-up button for me, so far its working pretty well and honestly it probably makes not much difference if they just completely take this button out for me. Maybe some people can find use in it as a switch for scrolling or mouse speed, or something else. Overall, the customizability of these buttons is very good, and depending on personal use, I can see it being very useful. Battery life: Battery life is fantastic, never had any problem with it yet. I haven't really kept track but with my heavy daily usage (probably 10+ hours with no intense gaming), it can usually go for more than a month. You can also use it while it's being charged. Durability: I have unfortunately knocked it over the desk a couple times on hard vinyl floor and there seems to be no problem with it at all. Before purchasing this I saw some comments about how it stopped functioning after being dropped to the floor and I was really worried about it. However that is not my case at all. It is very durable in my opinion and does its job perfectly even after dropping it a few times. Overall, extremely comfortable to use. It helped with my wrist pain tremendously and now I use it for hours without feeling any discomfort. The functionality is severely disadvantageous compared to Master 2s and 3s, and possibly other gaming mouses as well, but if you are here because of wrist pain, this is the right product.

This mouse has been a total game changer. The vertical design feels surprisingly natural and has significantly reduced wrist and forearm strain during long workdays. It was easy to get used to, works smoothly, and switching between devices is incredibly convenient. The build quality feels solid, and the battery life is excellent. I use it in my home office a couple of times a week and only need to charge it every few months. Definitely worth it if you spend a lot of time at your desk.

This mouse is great and keeps my hand in a natural position. Relieves my Carpal Tunnel. Great size for my hands and designed well for my condition.

As you get older, you need to adjust to pain. In my case, I was getting wrist pain from using a traditional mouse. I started researching and learned about vertical mice. I've used Logitech in the past and they seemed to be the leader in vertical mice, so I bought this one December of 2021. I love that you can program the buttons to behave differently based on the app you're using, it fits really comfortably in your hand so you don't have to adjust your hand much at all to reach any of the buttons and it's been great. So why only 1 star? One word: durability. Read the other 1 star reviews and most have the same complaint: the left mouse button stops functioning after a while. For a while, I didn't realize it was the mouse, but I was struggling during drag and drop or drag and highlight operations. Maybe I'm moving a window across the screen and all of a sudden, it drops where I didn't want to put it. Maybe I wanted to highlight a paragraph to drag and drop it and in the middle of me dragging it, it would drop it before I wanted it to drop, creating a garbled mess of words. Please, research before you buy this mouse because it's a COMMON PROBLEM! Simply put, it looks as though Logitech used very cheap micro switches underneath each button and they fail. In my case, my mouse has been broken for well over a year now. I simply refused to replace it because I couldn't accept spending $100 on a mouse, yet needing to replace it. So a few days ago, I finally call customer service. They asked me when I purchased it. I didn't remember and said 2020. It was actually almost 2022. The woman speaking to me said that all devices break and that's an acceptable period of time for a mouse to work before needing replacing!!!! To get me off of the phone, she offered me a 30% coupon for my next Logitech purchase. I was going to buy another one, but decided to read the comments before doing so. I already knew this was a common problem, but seeing so many others here complain about the same thing made me decide to go in a different direction. I simply can't recommend this mouse to anyone. For everyone that gave this 4 or 5 stars, the almost certainly did so shortly after purchase. It's great at first, until it breaks.
