Any shooter TRULY serious about barrel care needs to slide the patches to the side and get on board with these felt bore cleaners. So much better percentage of metal to material. Hint: use one size larger felt pellet and the end result is even better. I lapped a new 6.5mm barrel using 7mm pellets and got a result that was realistically as good as I would normally expect to get with a custom lead lap-enough to make the extra effort of pouring molten lead into a muzzle not really worth it. Really fouled barrels respond very well to a good overnight soaking of foaming cleaner followed by the heavy-duty bronze filament embedded pellets. Save the patches for final swipes and cleaning chambers - this is the new way to clean a barrel.

Works very well when lapping a rifle bore. The problem is locating the felt tips made by VFG, any other brand felt pellet will not work on this adapter / jag. Some vendors charge $32.95 for # 80 and another charges $24.00 for 500. So $.42 or $.05 each.

If you're using the VFG cleaning felts for your NRL22 rig, this is the tip you need. Stack 2 felts on, push thru using a bore guide of course, on the return trip one will drop off. Easy peasy

I use it as intended, to hold felt pellets, however the fyland pellets were the wrong size, The vfg brand are good.

Work very well with Vfg pellets two pellets the front come off as it should when you reverse the stroke the second stays put.

The one pellet jag pushes bore abrasives to both ends of the barrel, and this one is overpriced. Get the 3 pellet jag, it helps with keeping abrasive on the pellet. Also I recommend not using Kroil with the 3 pellet jag because of the problem described above. There's nothing wrong with the machining on this item. This review has nothing to do with using the product on air rifles.
