Clarke Sweetone Tinwhistle in D - Blue

Worked perfectly for classical Conversations after we lost our original tin whistle.

Great for practice. Would need something nicer for performing live if not mic’d As not very loud.

I liked the simplicity of using this instrument,how lightweight and easy it is to play. I was able to play a few tunes and it sounds sweet. The limited amount of notes is the only disadvantage. But overall, a nice instrument to have.

I purchased a Walton's tin whistle years ago in Ireland. Honestly, it was a bit tricky to get the right tone. I decided to get a different one and did some research into which whistle would be best for someone just beginning to learn how to play. The Clarke's SweetTone was unanimously recommended. I have been playing it ever since I received it and am not disappointed.

After watching several videos suggesting this particular whistle as the easiest to play because it has the least air requirements, and that it was the most forgiving. I started playing the whistle on February 23, and just could never get a clean note out of the thing regularly. I had the worst time learning how to play it, despite watching several troubleshooting videos. I finally gave up, and ordered a Jerry Freeman tweaked whistle, and oh my goodness, made all of the difference in the world. Aside from it not being as easy to learn as I had been lead to believe, it was uncomfortable, as there is a whistle length seam down the back because of the way it is constructed. Overall, this did not end up being the whistle for me. I had gotten discouraged, thinking I just couldn't learn how to play a whistle if I couldn't learn how to play the so-called easiest whistle to play. It turns out that getting the tweaked whistle solved my problem.

Excellent product quality and easy to learn to use with elementary instructions. Great for all ages and especially nice as a gift.

For the buck spent you cannot beat the Clarke Sweetone. The main feature of the Clarke is the bore is tapered which makes for smaller holes at the end of the whistle. This makes for a easier whistle to play, The hardest part of a whistle is being able to cover the holes with your fingers, failure to do so will make the whistle squeak and hiss. The smaller holes greatly reduce this problem and it gives a beautiful tone. A beginner cannot go wrong with this instrument.

Niveau zéro absolu, la prise en main de ce petit bijou est simplissime! Un joli whistle, avec un joli son. Par contre l'emballage d'Amazone est un peu limite, un objet si fragile dans une enveloppe en carton, bof, un vrai colis rigide serait mieux. J'en ai commandé un deuxième pour le reste de la famille.

Tengo otro whistle Freadog en D y otro en C y el Freadog en D es desesperante el sonido en las notas bajas (hace como rrrr), probé con varios y todos hacían lo mismo, es desesperante porque para que no suene tienes que soplar como si lo hicieras con una pompa de jabón, sin embargo en notas medias va bien, cuando subes a la segunda octava es un pecado y desespera a la hora de grabar. He pedido éste de Calrke Sweetone por menos de lo que cuesta el Freadog y no tiene comparación, las notas bajas no hacen ese ruidito ni tienes que tocar tan flojo para que no lo haga. He tocado hasta la tercera ocatav y es cierto que le cuesta un poco esas notas, pero es cierto que es mejor incluso que el Generation o el OAK o el Gewa y sinceramente por la mitad de precio. Éste lo enviaron desde el Reino Unido, vamos que no es una copia como aparecen a veces en Amazon. En cuanto al reborde que tiene por la parte trasera, a mí concretamente no me molesta, creo que es una cuestión de hacerse con ello, si quieres algo que no hay en Amazón entonces puedes mirar los Dixon o Susato y gastarte entre 30 y 150 euros si no quieres molestias de ningún tipo, creo que encontrar el perfecto, no lo vas a encontrar, lo que si puedes hacer, es buscar uno que se adecúe a tu forma de tocar y soplar. Como podrás comprobar, en la página de Amazon España no encontrarás ninguno de marcas mjy reconocidas dde 60 euros para arriba, sin embargo en otras plataformas de Aamazon en otros paises sí. Éste Whistle falla en algunas cosas, como todos, pero gana en otras la única forma de encontrar algo y no poner siempre críticas negativas es probarlos y dar con el que se adecúe a tí, a tu carácter y a lo que estés tocando. Si vas a tocar en un grupo sería conveniente ir por algo con mñas consistencia, tener varios en varias tonalidades y de distintas marcas porque cada partitura muestra algo distinto y su interpretación es distinta. He visto muchos vídeos de gente tocando con estos whistles y otros con los de gama alta, hay de todo. A mí particularmente no me molesta el reborde que tiene en la parte trasera y si lo trae su pongo que tendrá que ver algo con la colúmna de aire. Si quieres afinarlo es tan simple como quitar la boquilla, pero claro, está pegada, para eso puedes coger una vaso cona gua caliente (bsstante) y sumergir la boquilla unos segundos, verás comos e desprende y puedes scar o meter la boquilla para poder afinar el whistle con otros instrumentos o bien con una base musical. Dicho todo esto, creo que he acertado con éste pequeño para lo que quiero y eso que llevo 2 años con whistles, pero iré a por un low y un whistle Dixon afinable a ver que tal. Con un diapasón en LA, el SI de la primera octava está milimétricamente afinado.
