works perfect
This apple corer works perfectly. We have been searching a while and tried 4 or 5 different types before we found this one. It is strong and easy to use. The size is perfect and it slices through the apple with ease. The stainless is easy to clean; you basically just spray it off after you use it. I am so glad that we found this device. Great value for the price!

A Must-Have for Apple Lovers!
The OXO Good Grips Apple Corer is an absolute game-changer in my kitchen! If you eat apples regularly or use them in recipes, this tool makes the process quick, easy, and mess-free. The sharp stainless steel blade cuts through apples effortlessly, removing the core in one smooth motion. Plus, the non-slip grip is comfortable and makes it easy to use without slipping, even with wet hands. Cleanup is a breeze—just rinse it off or toss it in the dishwasher. It’s also sturdy and well-made, so I can tell it will last for years. I’ve even used it on pears, and it works just as well. If you want to save time and effort when prepping apples, this is a must-have kitchen tool!

The best coring tool I have ever used.
This apple corer does the job very well. I used it to core green pears. The job of coring a bushel was made much easier with the sharpest cutting end that I have ever seen. It only took 45 minutes to accomplish. It is dishwasher safe and made of heavy grade steel that will last a long time. I highly recommend the OXO corer. It is a great value for what you receive.

Easy to use, works well
It seems that apple corers have two dominant designs, one that opens its jaws and one (like this one) with a solid ring that does not open. After studying the reviews for both, I noticed that the corers with jaws that open eventually start jamming and need to be fixed. The problem is that the moving pieces jam, overlap, and form an oval instead a circle. This issue has to be fixed every time you use the corer. This corer is made out of stainless steel solid right; the ring has serrated teeth that are very sharp. The serrated end cuts through the apple like it was butter. The handle is large and comfortable to hold. Cutting through the apple requires little force if you agitate the teeth back and forth. I was interested in coring apples for baked apples rather than apple pies. This means I wanted to remove the apple core but not go all the way through the apple. Unfortunately, that is impossible as there is no mechanism to cut at the bottom without going through the apple. My solution is to remove the entire core and then use the bottom part of the core as a "stopper" by inserting it back into the bottom of the hole. The stopper leaks but provides some way of holding nuts or whatever else you want to stuff the apple with. Before the Oxo corer, I used my grandmother's method of removing the apple core with a spoon, which remotes the pits while leaving a nice clean area for stuffing the apple. But it is much harder to scoop out with a blunt spoon than using an apple corer. Ali Julia review Review of OXO Good Grips Apple Corer

Good for the price
Works pretty well. I wish the hole was slightly bigger because there are times where it misses the seeds. Very easy to clean and easy to use.

I didn't think an apple corer could be such a great thing but it is. This one is sharp enough to get right to the core of things (sorry) and it's easy on the hands. I have arthritis in my hands and this has been such a great tool for me...I'm very happy I purchased it.
