I have replaced the capacitor about two years ago, it has been running strong, no issue. Exactly the same size as the original one, so the installation is quite straightforward, took about 15 minutes to replace it. I would recommend it.

Woke up yesterday morning to a warm, stuffy room. Nice! Spent some time with some basic troubleshooting. No dice! After exhausting the basics, I discovered my condenser fan wasn't coming on. I could hear the motor buzzing, though. I gave it a spin with a stick, and it slowly started building up speed. Yeeha! I thought, maybe a bad motor, but maybe I can limp it until I find a replacement. Nooooo. Maxed out at a low speed, sounding like it kept wanting to go faster, but couldn't. Started looking around a bit more. Did some more research and found a few videos talking about the symptoms of a bad start/run capacitor. Sure sounded like my situation. Ordered this one, and it arrived today - next day. Spent maybe an hour, taking my time, getting it swapped out and checking some stuff. Fan started up properly, but my system was stuck in heat mode. Shut everything off a couple of times, but it took me switching it into Heat mode, then off for a while, then on again in Cool for it to actually switch to cooling. Cooling again for $35 for the capacitor and breaker, and a little time researching. Not to take away from the HVAC pros - I don't get a full system check-out doing this stuff myself. This system's American Standard, only 5yrs old. I do have the 5+5 warranty on it, but I swear, the old Trane I had when I bought this place ran longer, trouble-free, and it was already old when I got here...

Why did you pick this product vs others?: One of the cheapest on the market, and does the job. Guaranteed for 5 years, my last one lasted over 6 years and takes about 20 minutes to replace. Much better than the $230 the local hvac guys charge!

Took a wild guess that this was the reason my ac unit fan wasn’t moving. Unit is only 5 years old, put it in and it started instantly. Very happy and much cooler now.

The fact that you can find these on Amazon is 5 star enough. Without this option you might be looking at a $500 repair bill to a HVAC company to come out on the weekend, as was my situation. Oddly, this is the second run capacitor I have had to replace on my heat pump. The previous one was back in 2021. Having previously worked in the HVAC industry and knowing the first thing to look at is the cap, I was surprised to see I needed another one. The pervious one was from a different manufacture. So this time I settled on this company. Will be interesting to see if I get more then 4 years out of it. You just never know with caps.
