OXO Large Upright Sweep Set, Off-white, 8.5" - 12"

This is an outstanding broom set. The head is firmly attached so no swiveling or tightening needed. The bristles are superb because they have a feathery coating on the lower part of the bristle, which snags hair and dust more efficiently. It is more money, but much better quality. I bought this several years ago and it is still going strong. Sweeps well and dust goes into the pan well. Broom attaches to pan and stands up well. The broom handle is telescoping. Does not have to have additional poles to add on. I bought a cheaper version of another brand and was disappointed. I now have two of these OXO brooms. One upstairs and one downstairs. Love them!

Excellent light grey color and silver-aluminum works well in the kitchen, and made this purchase viable given the unusable colors of hi-viz yellow, safety orange, red, or black brooms so many offer. The orange trim details are tolerable but I'd rather see OXO offer this with a similarly subtle blue or green trim. Excellent build quality and function--when it arrives, you should check that the dustpan's edge is straight and flat as reviews show there have been wavy-edged dustpans delivered. Mine was straight and proper so maybe OXO has worked this out better. In general I find OXO to be the high quality leader in small kitchen tools. I seldom prefer OXO's electrical appliances, but they're the best for kitchen tools like drainboards, brooms, tools. This OXO broom/dustpan is no exception in that the aluminum shafts have top quality finish with good handle and fixture details; the broom is full and feathered and easy to use with a smaller size that is perfect for the one-handed use I have for it. The broom / dustpan combination is a pleasure to use and actually makes me want to do the little chores this is for. check the labels for how to tighten the adjustable shaft at your desired length, but be patient if it doesn't tighten right away. At first I thought mine wouldn't tighten and would need to be returned but as I worked with it I found the threads engaged and it tightened solidly. I use its shortest setting which is perfect. I was looking for a mid-sized / shorter broom that was easy to use one-handed with a dustpan held by the other hand. I'm 5'11" so not in need of a short broom generally, but sweeping one-handed with a full height broom doesn't work for me. The smaller broom fits easily into the dustpan for storage without harming bristles; the dustpan clicks to stay open as you move from small mess to mess sweeping with one hand into the dustpan held with the other hand for the most efficient quickest cleanup use; then the two shafts click together for the easiest storage in a narrow space while the excellent colors mean it can be stored visibly and not have to be hidden in a closet. Really it's perfect.

I spent a LOT of time researching brooms. I am on a budget, and there were cheaper options but I don’t regret spending a little more for this amazing broom set. I love the bristles since they work well on my hardwood and tile and get into the corners well. They are soft but thick, don’t miss anything or fling stuff around. So easy to make piles or you can just sweep into the pan. Something about it also just FEELS good when I sweep which sounds weird but is true for me! It’s so satisfying. The beige color works great for me with just the hint of orange. I don’t have a broom closet, have a smaller apartment, and really need my surroundings to look and feel good for me to be calm. I wanted something that wouldn’t be an eye sore. This broom blends in well to my kitchen colors and tile vs something black, red, or blue. When you shrink the handle down you can really barely see it next to my microwave. So yay! The dustpan works great, I love the bristle cleaner, and it all feels so sturdy. The adjustable height is nice. You really have to twist it tightly for it to stay up, but I love the broom so much I don’t care when it slips a little. No biggie. I’m a nerd for this broom and glad I treated myself despite my tight budget. I’m a single mom with two jobs and spend so much time cleaning! I decided to at least give myself tools that look and feel good so I can enjoy the experience as much as possible. Even my cynical teen who originally said, “How can it be so great it’s just a broom?” Agrees now. He kinda sucks at sweeping (he knows) and I need him to get better at it so this helps! This broom does it for me!

Great quality, easy to use and clean, durable, adjustable

The plastic/silicone on the dustpan breaks down. The broom was great at first, but it stopped working after a little while and I couldn’t figure out why. I just couldn’t get the dust into the dustpan. Finally I realized the plastic/silicone lip on the dustpan had been loosening over time. As much as I loved it, I won’t buy again. All the cool features mean nothing if the dust won’t go in anymore!

I was somewhat hesitant to spend $30 on a broom and shovel. Despite my misgivings, I really needed a good sweep set because all the ones I had been buying were always bad in some way: Either the brooms were too short and I got a backache using it, or the dustpan wasn't level with the floor and debris slid underneath it. However, seeing as this was made by Oxo (I'm a huge fan of their kitchen gadgets) I figured I'd just take the plunge. It was a great decision. I love this set! The broom has an extendable handle, which is great because I'm tall. No, the extended handle isn't terribly thick or sturdy, but it doesn't really need to be to serve its purpose. The best part of this set is the dustpan, which not only is nice, large and level with the ground, but the top comb to clean the broom is ingenious! If I only have one gripe, it's that I wish the comb had denser, closer together bristles. I think it would help get the dust bunnies out even more. That aside, however, this is exactly the kind of set I've been needing and I found it worth the extra money.

Estoy muy contenta con mi compra, esta escoba me ha facilitado mucho el trabajo, es ligera, fácil de manejar, entra en cualquier rincón y arrastra muy bien la basura. No se le adhieren los pelos tanto como a mi antigua escoba que era más gruesa. El recogedor también es muy práctico, no se voltea, se aplana bien sobre el piso para poder recoger todo el polvo. La escoba se mete en el recogedor para guardarlos y ocupan muy poco espacio. Ambos artículos se ven de buena calidad y resistentes. Son caros, pero valen la pena.

Very dense broom and makes it easy to sweep. The pan is perfect with the silicone tip so that it collects everything you sweep up. And for hairs the bristles clear them without you having to pull. There are many look allies but I suggest you the original Oxo

We bought this broom because our cat kept attacking the normal broom - both while we were using it and when we put it away (but not locked up). He started chewing and swallowing the bristles of the old broom when it was not being used. So, I was hoping this broom would make it easier to sweep up messes while being chased and attacked by the cat and that the dust pan would protect the bristles (and our cat's stomach) from his gnawing. I am happy to report that not only is it easier to sweep dirt into the dust pan while he is attacking -- it's easier to sweep dirt into the dust pan period. The dust pan lip sits perfectly flush with the floor and the dirt just glides right in on the first try. The way the dust pan encases the broom while not in use is successfully keeping his prying teeth off the bristles - as long as we make sure that the broom is completely inside the dust pan. He may figure out how to remove the broom from the dust pan pole, so we may have to go back to storing our broom in the closet, but that's just life with cats.
