Great book
Great tip in this book is to go Gluten free, I haven’t used the recipes in it yet but that one tip alone has improved my life so much already.

Clear and supportive
The author is a registered nutritionist who has a family history of hypo and Hashi’s from which she draws as well as her clinical experience. In the introduction the point is made about everyone having unique needs and how daunting it is to receive a diagnosis with no idea of how to support your future health. Well laid out in sections for easy reference.

~~ Don't forget to make your bone broth! ~~
Whilst some may not be sensitive to dairy and gluten the author suggests that you start by at least eliminating these food categories, THUS all the recipes in this book are dairy and gluten free. If, after two weeks, you are not seeing any improvements in your health, you may want to take your diet a step further. Excluded foods list for the various diets are included. There is also a great double-page spread of foods known to support your thyroid and ones to avoid. Are you a vegan? There are 73 recipes in this book for you plus 11 more that can be converted! Different color dots beside the recipes inform the cook what/whom the recipe is suitable for: AIP (Autoimmune Protocol) EP (Elimination Provocation) Paleo Vegan Recipe sections are: Smoothies, Beverages and Breakfasts * Snacks and Sides * Soups and Salads * Plant Based Meals * Fish and Seafood * Poultry and Meat * Desserts * Bone Broths, Sauces and Dressings (PLEASE NOTE that many recipes call for bone broth. Home made broth is SO good for you. ) There are a good variety of recipes in this book. Whilst I am not dairy free, vegan or having trouble with my thyroid I will be preparing quite a few recipes from this book for our family. For those of you not aware of what the Dirty Dozen and Clean Fifteen are you will find these two lists at the end. (Advice on which fruits and vegetables have the most/least pesticides.) Then come the measurement conversion charts which are handy due to this book having been written for the American market. This is followed by resources, a recipe label index and then a 'regular' index. What the recipe label index is all the AIP, EP recipes etc. listed together for easy reference. I do have to make mention that in this cookbook, and so many others, no dietitian or cook makes mention of the importance of eating GOOD salt i.e. NOT regular table salt. Do you know how many minerals you are missing out on but not consuming real salt? Phrased the other way, do you know how many nutrients have been removed from the white table salt that is so cheap to buy? I was provided a copy of this book by the publisher. That has not influenced my review with the thoughts and opinions above being my own. Thanks, Liz

I purchased the Kindle edition and have found it so helpful. I have hypothyroidism myself and I cannot express enough appreciation for both this book and for how the information is presented in such an open, non-judgemental manner. I feel like Emily has really empowered everyone to understand that this book is a tool, a resource to help them better understand what works for them because even if we all have the same/ similar diagnoses, we all respond differently to different diets/ treatments. As a registered dietitian myself, I also find this takeaway incredibly important and greatly appreciate how well-researched the book is. Bonus? The kindle edition is perfect for making the recipes - I can easily set it up in the kitchen on my tablet as I'm making the recipes! I love the berry chocolate chia seed pudding and ginger carrot bisque!
