Decent, Economical Light
I purchased this for volunteer Search and Rescue response. The light is very bright at night and decent enough during the day. Brighter than my old halogen beacon, so I'm happy. I now use this for front lighting and my beacon on my roof for 360 coverage (just to be safe)Traffic responded well to this light during my last response both during the day and night when I mounted it on my dash. My vehicle is unmarked so the light was the sole attention grabber. I'm pleased with its visual performance. As for build quality, I'm actually very happy with it. It looks like it would be flimsy but is surprisingly sturdy and the wiring is well done. I have had a problem in the past with small suction cups breaking when being pulled off but these hold on for dear life and can take being ripped off my windshield. They also have little tabs you can press to release the cups but are hard to access when the light is mounted, unless you got it in just the right place.FLASH PATTERNS!!! In case you were wondering:The light has 3 flash patterns.Pattern 1: Alternating strobe flashes between each light module. 3 seconds each.Pattern 2: Both light modules strobe for 3 seconds, off for 3 seconds, repeat.Pattern 3: SOLID light flashing on 1 second off 1 second, repeat.Pattern 1 comes on by default, it does not remember your last choice. Personally I prefer 1 anyway. Also, there are two bolts on the side which allow you to change the angle of the light itself within the mount. You could actually move it to a 90 degree angle and use this for side or rear lighting if you wanted to. I probably will do this in the future.Hope this review helps my public safety colleagues out there!

Great light, Even better price!
After reading all the reviews, I was hesitant to order this light. On arrival, though, I was shocked on how solid the build was on the light and overall package. This thing is solid, built in a metal enclosure and has a very solid standard switch to change modes. I would put this up against most of the name brand LED dash lights that I have installed/used...Now the not as great stuff...Those that reviewed and slammed the cord/cig lighter plug are well justified. The plug looks like the cheapest of the cheap that one would find on a fathers day combo glove/ice scraper/trouble light/air pump. You know those things one gets as a gift that everyone (except the giver who is enchanted) looks at and knows that a) it is the most stupid combination in the world and b) it will never work, even if you do throw it in the car for an "emergency." That being said, the cord on this light is cheesy at best. I would recommend that you plan on ditching the cord and wiring it direct or at the minimum replace the plug with a quality aftermarket replacement. For about $3 more to buy a decent quality cig lighter plug, this can be as nice as most $100 range lights. I plugged it in and the thing is VERY visibly and works well. That is in dim light f course as I work the midnight shift, but I see no difference in the overall performance of this vs the $150-$200 light from name brand that is mounted on the rear deck of my cruiser. Ultimately, if you are looking for a budget conscious alternative to a Whelen or other light, this is a good choice as long as you realize you will likely need to remove/replace the plug in the near term.

... of them hard wired with new cable I would recommend them for someone looking for a light with decent ...
They work well for the price as others have said the wiring is thin and breakable but it worked for my needs I have 2 of them hard wired with new cable I would recommend them for someone looking for a light with decent brightness that does not want to spend a ton

Good temp light but plug needs redesign
I was pretty surprised by the performance of the light. I use it as a temporary one. During the day it isn't extremely bright but people really do get out of the way 95% of the time. At night, it works almost as well as my Whelen lights. Good light for the price I'd say. It worked well for about 3-4 months but then the plug stopped working one day when I went to switch it on and blew the 20 Amp fuse for my cigarette lighter. Not such a big deal but it shouldn't have done this. Hardwire it if you plan to use it for more than just a temporary light.

Great light for less
Actually don't mock it just because its cheap and its only 3 modes. Its very bright day and night and its being used by an EMT. The red plug looks cheap as well but works and the switch doesn't get Hot like other lights with the switch on the plug. Also the housing is metal not cheap plastic which I was surprised like the more expensive ones.

ok for entertainment. not what you want for public safety work.
this light is wallet friendly. the packaging and shipping speed were satisfactoy. the metal frame is solid and fits the windshield just fine. the cigar plug on mine was not a problem. at all. what is a problem is the flash selector. the little red button isnt even attatched, it just sits in the hole and doesnt usually work when pressed. each time you turn the light on it is on random. that isnt really a big deal but sometimes it cycles and sometimes it goes to a slow steady blink of the whole bar. if you know how to take it apart and make it flash on a certain pattern permenantly that is what i would do. the coloration is spot on. as far as brightness it is about half as bright as my mini phantoms.it is worth the twelve bucks, but i need reliability. i gave this light to a new volunteer and they are happy with it.

I was very pleased.....at first.....and then....
When I first received these lights, I was surprised at what appeared to be a high quality aluminum extruded housing and metal bracket. This excitement quickly disappeared when I discovered that it was an aluminum housing, but the housing was electrically connected to the POSITIVE battery terminal when the light was turned on. How did I discover this? When I held the light, it worked properly....when I placed it down on a metal car part, it stopped working, and the coiled cord became hot to the touch. Very, Very Very bad. Also, they are not really that bright. They're visible, but more like 3rd brakelight visible, not what one would expect a warning light to look like. Furthermore, I ordered two of these lights....and both used different LEDs (one was surface mount and the other had standard 5mm thru-the-hole LEDs. I would not purchase these again.
