Does anyone know if this stethoscope is adequate for small animal veterinary medicine?

All stethoscopes can be used in veterinary medicine. You just have to consistently use it so you start being able to identify the different sounds. I've used several different stethoscopes in my career. All have goods and bads. The cardiac scopes are great for lower frequency sounds, such as heart beats, but not so great for higher frequency sounds like subtle lung and airway noises. Still, its how you use it. My buddy is a vet cardiologist. He's used a pediatric scope for years and is so used to the sounds he can hear nuances I will miss with fancier scopes. Hope this helps.

I like this stethoscope. Anything you get with the littman name will be high quality, the difference from the higher priced models is that this is not cardiac specific. It is a general stethoscope. There is no loss of sound identification. You can still hear s1-s2, lung sounds, bruits, murmurs, bowel sounds, and the like.

Can this be used in pediatrics? Or is better to buy the classic?

Did yours come with the box wrapped in plastic? Mine came with the box partly opened, I thought there would a protective covering around the plastic.

Mine came in the box with a 1" plastic band around the box, not all that secure of packaging. When I called Littmann, the operator didn't know what the packaging entailed. But she did say that what I purchase off of Amazon is a third party purchase, so she has no way of knowing anything about the actual product I purchased. Then I called a local distributor and talked to them. I told him I purchased one and that it had the band around the box, but that the item did not have a plastic bag around it or any other packaging. He said it does not come wrapped inside the box, that it sits on a thin piece of black foam, and that's it. That's exactly how mine was packaged. His price is $24 higher than the Amazon price. And honestly, even if I bought it from him, I still wouldn't know if someone had previously purchased it and returned it anyway. I can't tell you how many times I've purchased items in stores to later discover that it had been used and returned. UGH! The bigger issue is it a counterfeit item. I would have no way of knowing authenticity unless I purchased it directly from the manufacturer. Next best thing would be an authorized distributor. I purchased this for home use, so I'm not going to worry about it too much. But, if I were a medical student, I'd be purchasing from an authorized distributor.

Good but not the same product

Great quality, Not the same color as advertised. Picture describes a light pink tone but you get a burnt metallic pink that’s not even close to the advertised tone.

Light weight and folds easily in my bag! Plus it doesn’t weigh down my neck like others have. The oval shape is much more efficient when taking manual blood pressures. I wish I had gotten one sooner!

Great stethoscope for the price

Amazing Stethoscope for the price. I was away visiting my daughter, when my husband became ill. I did not have my stethoscope along and had this one delivered. I could immediately hear his adventitious breath sounds and got him treatment. I am truly impressed with this stethoscope for the price

Like the sound quality, material is awesome, ear piece are very soft and chest piece is having nice shape and nice material. But there is no extra ear buds or sticker for chest piece is there. But this stethoscope is best at this price.❤️
