The United States gave up being a manufacturing country years ago. The Monocular is good quality for the price. I have 3 of the 10x, one for each vehicle I drive. I've been thinking of another for the house as I find they are much easier to use than my $600 Bino's. #FJB

Q: What is the difference between nature trek and endurance monoculars by hawke? they seem to have same specs but price wise are different

I have only used the Endurance 10 x 42, so, with no experience using the Nature-Trek, I can only go by what was on the Hawke website. On the Hawke website, it says about the Endurance “… optics providing crisp, clear and bright images with enhanced light transmission.” I think that the difference is in the type and quality of the glass. it also states that “Endurance models benefit from our System H5 Optics. ED (Extra-Low Dispersion) glass is utilized to reduce color fringing.” There is no mention of this in the Nature-Trek, which uses System 2 Optics. Otherwise, the only difference I can see in the specs is that the Endurance weighs 11.5 oz. as opposed to the Nature-Trek weighing 11.3 oz. Every other measurement appears the same. I purchased what I thought would give me the best viewing and was willing to pay a bit more. I really enjoy using this monocular. After several pairs of decent quality binoculars over many years, I find the ease of getting birds or objects into focus and being able to do this quickly and easily with one-hand focusing is a pleasure. Objects appear sharp and clear. After borrowing mine briefly while on hikes, two people that already had quality binoculars have purchased a pair. The quality is very good, though I attached a zip tie for the eye piece cover so I wouldn’t lose it. If the standard of quality is the same, I imagine that the Nature-Trek might also be a pretty good choice.

Good item. Good price

I’ve been using it during my last 2 trips to southern Chile. One in a ship through the fiords, and discovering the forests near Aysen.This device is light, and easy to use. The image is really clear, and its case (bag) helps a lot when it’s not been used.I’ve been spotting birds, whales, mammals, and mooore birds hahaha.I really recommend it 🙌🏻

Really nice

I just got my new monocular. I am really happy with it. I felt bad that living in the desert, it'll never be as clean as when I unboxed it! Anyway, the lanyard is kinda cheap, and I couldn't figure out how to use the flat part of the lanyard through the flat slot in the monocular or the eyepiece cap. So, I used the thin cord part for that. Probably someday, the rubber (silicone?) will eventually tear). It wasn't 10 minutes before I lost the cap on the other lens cap. I figure that was probably inevitable. I was out with a friend who brought binocs and she was missing both her's, too.So given these minor issues, why do I give this 5 stars? Well, the image quality is great! Sure enough, that little protuberance with the focus wheel fits nicely in my hand (I have huge hands, FWIW). The image seems reasonably stable while scanning with the monocular. My purpose is to scan rock faces to look for petroglyphs. I can't recount how many times I've looked at far away rock faces and wondered it that's a natural 'peck' into the rock or a petroglyph too far away to resolve. I think this monocular will work great for me.

Clarity is excellent!

I have always wanted a decent monocular and these do not disappoint. Close up viewing if needed at a little over 6 feet and be able to see the eyes of a squirrel at about 75 yards. I have bad eyes with multiple problems that cause double vision and blurriness. The clarity of the ED glass makes it a joy to use.

Would not buy again.

The eye relief on this monocular is very long causing the focus to never be ultra sharp. Would not purchase again.
