The Amazon Basics Portable Security Case Lock Box is one of the smartest items I sent with my kiddo to college. It’s the perfect size for keeping all those important documents (passport, extra cash, birth certificate, Social Security card) safe and in one spot. The built-in code lock is easy to use, and the ability to secure the box to a bed frame or other fixed object gives an extra layer of protection that really puts my mind at ease. It’s sturdy, reliable, and exactly what a student needs in a shared dorm environment where things can easily get misplaced or borrowed. Plus, having everything with them means I’m not stuck mailing sensitive documents back and forth. For any parent sending a student off to college, this little lock box is a game-changer. Highly recommend!

I use this to safely store a handgun. I'm impressed with the quality and the cable to attach it to whatever you need. I even bought one for a family member to use.

I bought this item and it was easy to set up combo. Easy to lock and close. Was hard to open and first but once opened all was good. The size is fine for one gun. It is made of metal so appears to be strong. Easy to transport to car and attach.

These are the perfect sized safes (Large) for the area under the front seats of my Lexus GX550. No electronics or biometrics to fail and the construction seems relatively robust. I liked it so much I bought an XXL and a second L for my home. The finish on these is quite poor. All of my safes arrived with small scratches and dents from the factory, and some of the scratches were touched up with permanent marker. Nothing a good sticker from Ruger or Springfield wont fix. Just don't put a Sig Sauer sticker on it because the safe will no longer be drop-proof if you do =P Also, the XL size is pointless as its only a few millimeters bigger than the L in every dimension.

I was very impressed with the sturdiness and weight of this box for the money, extreme value. By gettign the largest size I easily fit my pistol with red dot and light plus extra magazine with room to spare. The one downside is I though from the comments it was TSAable with a TSA lock, so I bought two - but there is no place for a TSDA lock - someone in the comments had just jury rigged it. If this just had separate latch for a tsa lock it would be perfect.

The size I got it perfect to be discrete but perfectly fits jewelry and money. I use mine in a dorm and I love my roommate but you never know who she may have over or what may tempt her. I strapped it bed post as it’s a lofted bed so it’s between two planks as well. The cable runs through the box so it’s not just like you can unlatch the cable and take the whole box. Perfect for securing items.

Box seems to be well-made and sturdy, and the combo lock & opening knob is easy to use. If there's a weak spot, it's likely the combo lock where the knob is plastic. The metal of the box is surprisingly hefty. The foam is adequate, but it needed some adhesive so that it wouldn't fall out. For less than $19, it seems like a good deal and suffificent to meet Colorado's intrusive law requiring firearms to be secured in the home if minors are present. Personally, I prefer education and discipline which counters curiosity and misbehavior. XL size is good for my Sig .40 and J-framed .38.

nice/heavy pistol box. cable is a nice touch too. my. only complaint is the knob you turn to open and close is super tight... but overall ,it works good

I was impressed on how easy it was to setup. It can easily be concealed in places where it can't be easily found. Great for keeping small items safe.

Brought the XXL version. The case is of a good sturdy metal quality construction. The combination lock works well and precise instructions are contained instructing how to change the combination to your own personal choice. This is an excellent portable case that I will use to secure valuable items in my car and at hotels that do not have room safes. I would recommend this product.
