Avery Printable Self-Adhesive Plastic Tabs, 1-1/4", Repositionable Adhesive, Assorted Colors, Pack of 96 (16281)

I'm so glad I don't pay attention to the majority of negative reviews. I received these today and after wasting one (just to get the hang of them), I love them! The printout is very good, the size is perfect and the ADHESION is VERY GOOD. Stop touching the sticky part! If you don't touch it (or as little as possible) they stick just fine. The oils in your fingers will, in fact, lessen the adhesion. Operator error? Maybe. All I know is that these are exactly what I've been looking for to use in my planner and elsewhere and they'll stay in my list until Avery stops making them. With all that said, the only thing I would wish for is a larger variety of colors. While they serve their purpose beautifully, the colors are muted and a bit blah. Maybe a pack of neon colors? Some light patterns? Just a thought. Otherwise, these rock!!

I used these to create dividers with the Wausau Paper Vellum Bristol Cover Stock, 250-Sheets, Gray, 8.5 x 11-Inch, which I think is 67 lb cardstock. I wanted something affordable that I could easily set up for my middle school and high school students' binders, and this fit the bill perfectly. The tabs are holding on strong after a semester's worth of use, and I'll be using these dividers again next semester. I can't ask for more on a AZ teacher's salary when I have one less expense to think about for the coming school year. One word of warning is that these do come off but will leave residue if they've been on for a while. Consider them repositionable while you set up your tabs but fairly permanent over time because of this reason. It doesn't bother me now that I know, so I'll still give them a 5-star rating since I can't do a 4.5.

Easy to print easy to use and looks good

For the most part, really like these tabs. The #1 biggest drawback is the color spectrum. The tabs are entirely too dark. I printed using bold black text and the only one that is legible at first glance is the yellow. For the rest I have to peer closely to read the words. The other thing I didn't like is the color portion of the tab pulls away from the tab very easily; pieces of one stuck to my finger while I was trying to place it. Couldn't get it back on tab facing, so I had holes in the color for one tab. Tips: use the Avery.com website and their template. Easy to use, once you figure out how to set up each tab. I suggest using "Edit All" on the first tab, get it to look how you want, then move to 2nd tab and switch to "Edit One". A little tedious but just highlight the #1 tab's text on the subsequent tabs and start typing the new. This works especially well when some tab texts are longer than others and you need to change the font size. Highlight the old text, change the font size first, then type new text. This will keep all tabs' texts in pretty close to same place without having to mess with the text box dimensions each time you move to a new tab. Also, if you want to print on both faces of tab, copy and paste of course, but do NOT use little circle thingy to rotate 180. The Avery software does it for you, even though on the screen it looks like it will be facing the wrong way when you apply the tabs to your project. And if you want to do 2-sided tabs, definitely do the first backside in "edit all" mode when you do the original 1st tab; switch to "edit one" for the remainder. To print, save your project as a PDF on Avery.com, then hit "preview and print". Avery will give you the option to download your PDF. Print a test copy on plain paper first to make sure it lines up with Avery tabs. You need to make sure you have the correct end of the tab sheet going in the printer correctly, otherwise it won't print on the tabs, but off to the sides of them. As other reviewers have noted, the tabs are easy to place. Consider folding down the back of the tab before placement: it makes it easier to hold and position the tab without sticking to the colored part and accidentally pealing it!

I have a lot of manuals, assessments, workbooks, and other materials in my private practice. The tabs are perfect for these books I need to be able to find quickly and without having to check the table of contents. My only problem was the template included on the website didn’t work for me and I had to create my own.

I love these tabs. They are easy to use and they have a great color selection. However, the part of the tab that folds over does not stick properly. The quality is great until the tab or clear surface that protects the tab comes up. I found that I have to either use doble sided tape or glue them down.

It works very well. Carefully read the instructions before printing it.

I purchased these to tab a document i use daily at work. The tabs were easily printed with a document you download from avery. After printing the tabs, you fold them over and place them where needed. The tabs have stood up to over a years worth of daily use and all are still in place. I recently had to print out an updated codebook and placed the remaining tabs on the document. The printable tabs come in an assortment of 5 colors if you are wanting to color code. I will buy these again when needed.
