I do IgG infusions on a biweekly basis and I needed a new ice pack that would cover my entire abdomen, velcro around me, and that would be comfortable, as my cruddy little one just wasn’t cutting it. Enter the Life & Limb gel pack. This sucker is life changing. Not only does it cover the areas for my infusion insertion sites, it perfectly covers my entire trunk (5’4”, 129 lbs) without cutting into me or being too bulky/large. It is so freaking comfy. The fact that it molds to shape is also great. This means there’s no extra added pressure on those needles and the velcro is SO easily adjustable; there’s no loops to run it through and it just stays comfortably in place. I can do my set up standing up and then relax and sit or lay down with ease for the duration. No readjusting or having to be extra careful about positioning. I tossed the gel packs in the freezer as soon as the box arrived and by infusion time, they were icy icy cold...and the best part - they stayed cold! And... y’all... I wasn’t soaked in condensation. Holy cow. Perfect thickness, whether for cold or warmth. For me, this is a BIG deal and it will definitely help to make infusions go smoooooth from now on. This is so fabulous. I suffer from bursitis in my hip, deep in the joint. This makes sitting very painful for weeks. I'd tried heating pads, which would help a little, too, and I tried various ice treatments but they were difficult to keep in place. I saw this and thought wow, that looks like what I need since I have to sit at a computer for long stretches but also get up and go do stuff (I work from home). This is awesome!!!!!!!! It conforms to your body, you can sit, stand comfortably, even lie down. It is adjustable and stays on. The KEY to freezing it is to be able to lie it down flat or folded. If you lie it down in the freezer at an angle the gel or whatever is inside will settle unevenly, creating larger frozen areas than others (thanks to gravity); but, it quickly softens up and will smooth out after a short while. I have noticed some people complain that this only lasts 20 minutes? That is all therapists recommend; after 20 minutes you are not getting a good benefit; your blood needs to be able to circulate in these areas, not stay frozen! My skin stays very cold to the touch quite a while after I've removed this. I use it twice a day and it really helps, although my doctor said my pain is so deep inside my hip he wouldn't have thought ice would help, but all I know is it does.

Pros: Very comfortable to wear, even when sleeping. It holds position well. I like that the strap is elastic; adds to comfort. The velcro holds well. It came with 2 gel packs. Cons: extra gel packs aren't available to purchase. I wish it had a little more weight; I prefer a bit of weight pressure when reclined or laying back. Would be nice if it stayed cold a little longer than 20 minutes or so. Overall: best of all the hot and cold packs I've tried, and there have been many. The pros outweigh the cons. Would buy again (and did buy again). Update: I found that the gel packs freeze better when I set them in certain parts of my freezer. Maybe I just have an old freezer, but the closer to the back of the freezer I move them, the better they freeze, and they then stay cold a little longer. The freezer door was not the best place for the gel packs.

I have suffered from migraines for years, and have used various ice packs to help get me through the pain. just putting an ice pack on your head and lying down helps, but isn't as good as a pack that secures to your head. So I purchased the Revix migraine wrap, which does help a lot when lying down and it covers your eyes and provides pretty good relief. The problem with a big wrap like that though is that I couldn't get it to fit comfortably enough to be able to just walk around with, especially since it is designed to cover the eyes. I also couldn't get it to fit right because of my glasses. So I decided to find a smaller wrap that just covers the forehead and allows you to adjust it to fit your head. I found these wraps, and they are perfect. They are a little cold when I take them out of the freezer, but not so bad that I can't wear them. I usually will just take it off for a few minutes at a time until the warm up a little. They last quite a while and since there are two, you can swap one out when one isn't cold anymore. I am able to wear them comfortable while being up and doing things and my glasses don't get in the way of them at all. My only real complaint would be that it's kind of a hassle getting the ice pack into the wrap because it doesn't slide in easily, but that's minor. I am very happy with this purchase.

The item is definitely high quality made and works as intended, but there are a few of things that bother me about it. NOTE: The problems that I have with my shoulder make me have to wear it at a higher angle than is shown in the picture (I have to pull it up against my neck and pull the long strap under my chest on the opposite side so the icepack is tight against the front, back, and very top of my shoulder). My feedback is with wearing it in this manner (which is DIFFERENT than the picture and potentially different than how it is intended to be used). That being said, here is why I only gave it 3 stars: 1. The top buckles are too close to the edge of the shoulders...if I lay down with it on, the buckle pushes against my jaw and is uncomfortable. 2. The insulation on the outside is perfect, but there is very little to none on the side that goes against your skin. So in order for it to be comfortable, I have to use paper towels between the icepack and the wall of the wrap or the cold physically hurts my skin (even when wearing it over a shirt). 3. The lower strap is course and itchy, and it also tends to fold and ride up (against my armpit) instead of sitting still and flat. I have to wear a t-shirt or something with a partial sleeve so the strap is not directly against my skin to avoid irritation from the fabric. A sleeve also helps stop it from riding up. As I said, due to my injury/pain I have to wear it differently than is pictured. This may be adding to the problems that I have with the upper buckles and lower strap. I also have somewhat sensitive skin. This may seem like a lot of complaints about the product, but it really is very well made. If the product was a little longer so the lower strap sat a little further down, there was more insulation on the side that goes against your body, and the top buckles were put about a half inch further in/down from the edges, then I would definitely give this product 5 stars. Unfortunately, having to use it the way that I need to for my particular problem, I am unable to give it higher than a 3, especially with its hefty price tag. I write this in the event that someone else who reads this needs the same type of ice therapy as I do as opposed to just needing it as pictured. When I tried using it like that, I couldn't get it tight enough or high enough on my shoulder for it to be useful like that.

This wrap and ice pack are amazing!! I have been using for a week for swelling and pain due to a knee injury, and it has been so very helpful. The ice pack stays very cold for a long time (1 hour+) and the wrap does a great job keeping it in place and is soft and comfortable. I love that this wrap is large enough to use on my back and shoulders, too, since I have also had past issues with those areas as well. That this product is made in the USA and benefits salmon fisheries is a great added bonus! LOVE this product!!!

This therapy pack is great. Well made, love the design, so easy to use, stays cold for a long period of time, and very comfortable. It reduced the pain in my knee, giving it more mobility. A good value for the price. I would recommend this product.

Because I am making a glowing review, I need to say that I have NO incentive to do so. I have not received any free item nor do I personally know anyone in the Life and Limb company. Some products simply deserve a glowing review and this is one of them. I have had my issues with chronic rotator cuff inflammation. As a physician, I view these products with a very critical eye. I have tried several different shoulder ice/heat products and this is, by far, the best there is in my opinion. Some of these very similar products sell for well over $100. This product is extremely well designed and the manufacture is of the highest quality. The Life and Limb company is a small family business and I sincerely commend them for providing such a high quality, American made (I believe) product at such a reasonable price. With all of these shoulder products, the first application can require some help, but once it is fitted it is much easier. I am 6ft 240# with 48in chest and had no problems with the fit. The Life and Limb company will customize these for the "outliers" of size. Here's a little trick. The instructions say to start by placing the affected arm into the arm strap, then adjusting the chest strap, which can require reaching around the back to grab the chest strap. I do the opposite. Once the chest strap is fitted the first time, I leave it attached. I remove and replace the device by the arm strap, making sure it remains attached to the BACK part of the arm component. Now, when I put the device on, I slip my head and my non-injury arm through the chest strap so the arm component is laying on top of my injury shoulder. I just reach the arm strap with my non-injury arm and attach the strap to the front of the arm component. Look no further! This is perfection.
