What a Great Tool!
This is one of those tools that make you say, "why didn't I use one of these things years ago." It is accurate and very easy to use. I've used it both for flooring and setting picture frames on the walls and it works great for both applications. As others have mentioned, the lasers are NOT super bright. If you are in a very well lit room, you will notice how the laser fades or degrades. In darker rooms not an issue at all. I haven't tried it outdoors yet but I cannot imagine this would even work under direct sunlight. I bought it during one of the Amazon Prime sales at a much cheaper prices. Hard to beat for how useful the tool is!

Perfect for herringbone or 45 degree tile
I have other lasers, but I needed to install just over 1,000 sq. ft. of brick pavers in a herringbone pattern. I needed a laser to make sure I stayed at an accurate 45 degree angle compared to the center line. If I got off of that accurate 45 then as I went through the house the entire pattern would be skewed wrong. This is the only laser I found that not only gave a square laser line, but also a 45 degree laser line. It worked perfect. It uses 4 AA batteries. The batteries lasted for the entire job. They lasted longer than my rechargeable lasers. This is not self leveling, but it doesn't need to be for floor layout. The red line is bright and thinner than other lasers I have. A thinner line is more accurate, so that is a good thing. This laser line gives a starting point and the body of the laser doesn't interfere with the tile. Some lasers get in the way of the square corner line. It has an automatic shut off after 30 minutes. At times I appreciated it and at other times it was an irritation because I had to get up and turn it back on. It is stable and simple to use. My only minor issue is it doesn't extend a line in both directions in front of and behind the laser. I like to set a laser in the middle of my line and have it extend both directions and this one doesn't do that. But that is minor and it worked great for my needs. It will get regular use even when I don't need the 45 degree angle. And when I do need there is no other alternative.

It’s a good buy
Its quality is strong and is light weight. It’s the right size and it measures accurately.

Works well, but you need a stand
This works as good as I could have expected. A set of stilts or maybe some kind of lifter would have been marvelous. I'm sure if you're using regular spacers and not those wedges and spinners, you won't need any adjustment to the height, but with the spinners and the wedges, you'll need a box or something to set it on to get over the big blocks that those levelers create. What makes this still a5 start product is twofold. 1. It's been around since before those gigantic spinners and levelers. 2. It shoots a plane of light instead of just a beam, so, if you raise it up, like setting it on a box or bucket, it'll still shine a line where you need it to.

Great buy! Why didn’t I get this sooner?!
Okay quilters!!! I ordered & just used the BOSCH GTL2 LASER LEVEL SQUARE, included were adhesive mounting strips. I’m a beginner quilter & I’m using it to square up my quilts. Works wonderfully for this task! I’m thrilled to have found it at a great price, it’s compact, laser level works well with accuracy & uses 3 AA batteries. Does the job exceptionally well!!!

Really great tool!
I used it for the first time last week while doing a 400+ sq ft tile job here on Long Island in NY. At first I thought thought the laser light wasn't strong enough but after playing with it for a few minutes right on the tiles I found it to be quite sufficient light wise. I marked some layout lines with my chalk line and square to see how close the tool came to them and I have to say it was within a 1/8-+" of my lines. I'm guessing that it was my lines that may have been off but even splitting that I'd have to say it's real accurate. The room I was doing was about 13'x31'. Another nice thing is the laser line jumps right over my spacers which I used sticking up from the tiles rather than set into the tiles..and the line falls back onto the edges of each tile. I HIGHLY recommend the Bosch GTL3. If I had to do it all over again I'd buy it in a heartbeat.

Huge time saver
I finally broke down and go this for the tile job in my house. With almost 2,500 square feet of tile to lay, this looked to be the easy way to get my lines straight. It's pretty much pop the batteries in and push the button. First use was to layout the tile down a hall that had about 1/4 total clearance with full tile widths on the width, and this made it a breeze. I've used string lines and chalk lines, string gets in the way and does not stay tight or straight when you start hitting it and chalk lines get covered up. I was shooting down over 30' with clear laser lines on the floor all the way, made setting tile a breeze, especially since I am using rapid-set thin-set for the first run (isle that I need to walk on before tomorrow). If I was using any other method, I'd be stuck mixing small batches and setting 2-3 tiles at a time, I could run with full buckets with this. Only issue I ran into is very minor, the time-out is a little on the short side, I think it's about 45 minutes and it shuts off. I like that as it will save on the batteries, but unless you reset it after every bucket of thin-set, it will shut off on you. I have also used this for laying out for framing walls and it works really well for that too. I almost forgot I had it when I was laying out 3 rooms and this made life a lot easier. This will pretty much made any straight line/45/90 degree layout job easy, whether it be tile, framing or whatever else you are doing.

Handy
I bought this for a bathroom floor tile installation. It did not help me much on the walls. Laying out the wall tile I used my levels. It does have a really nice plate for mounting it to the wall. For larger rooms it would probably be more useful or if I was putting the tiles in at an angle. For the shower I was doing not so much. For laying out floor tile this laser is really nice. Most walls are not perfectly square. This laser will save some time in that you can move it around until you get what you want. It is a lot easier to move around than a big lay out square or drywall square. You can measure of one wall and snap a line. That is what I used to do. The problem is when the walls are not square and your trying to fudge a little here and a little there. The diagonal line is also nice. It was very handy and It helped me set up my floor plan. A friend used it for tiling a laundry room and has ordered his own after using mine. I only gave it four stars because I thought the line was a little light. I expected a brighter light. The line shoots down and creates a nice square right in front of the laser. I am happy with the product and look forward to using it again on my next project.
