Lived up to the hype
My god, this book is so good. The writing and artwork is perfect and the God Butcher is a character to give kids nightmares.

THORS FINEST HOUR
This Complete Collection includes the first 3 trades of Jason Aarons iconic Thor run. The stories included are 'The God Buthcer', 'The God Bomb' and 'The Accursed'. The God Butcher storyline is an instant classic, pitting Thor from the past, present and future against the Gorr the God Butcher. This story is epic. with Esad Ribic complimenting it with his unique art style. This story is a must read for any Thor fan, even for those who did not enjoy the latest movie which VERY loosely adapts this storyline. The Accursed is more of a back to basics storyline centering around Malekith the Accursed. However, this is quintessential to the whole run as it can be seen as the 'Prologue' to War of the Realms. Altogether a fun storyline but not as amazing as the first 12 issues. Altogether this item is highly recommended. It is the first of five Complete Collections which have all been released now. However, Marvel has now released 2 omnibus containing this epic run if that is more of your style.

First half is great
The God butcher storyline and art is great. The villain is compelling and the scale epic. The second story arc is a big drop in quality though and feels more rushed in terms of story and art. I know some marvel comics have an 18 issues per year schedule as Ron Harvey's art is usually stronger. I also wonder if the author initially only had the God butcher arc in mind and was asked to do more but didn't have anything fleshed out. It may be things pick up as the author settles into a longer run. The second arc just felt like poor Lord off the rings tribute or wheel of time.

Not a good story flow, dissapointing
I thought this would be very good, but the story line jumps all over the place and I mean every couple of pages, no consistent flow, so this ruins any sort of story, the artwork is ok, but feel very much let down. If you like a jumbled time traveling story then you might like it, but I find time travel ones just ruin things.

Nice art
Thor fights the God-Butcher and Malekith the dark elf. It's okay, but if I hadn't already bought the whole series, I wouldn't be buying it now.

Have only read the gorr the god butcher arc (issues 1-11) but can already tell it's one of the best books I own. The storytelling combined with the art made gorr genuinely terrifying. A mysterious yet dominant force who feared nothing and would do anything in his power to see the end of all gods that existed. One of the most underrated villains and one of my personal favourites in comics. More than that, each thor character (young, avengers thor and all father thor), had their own unique personalities and fighting styles which just increased the greatness of this already phenomenal read. And the finale to the arc? Top 5. Couldn't have ended it in a better way. A shame they wasted thor and gorr in the love and thunder film cus this was truly something.

Very poorly packaged, poorly protected, damaged corners and worst of all it seems that the comic got wet, it arrived damp and with some pages distorted by the humidity itself, quite disappointed since it is a very good story, too bad they don't care one bit about how the packages arrive

The story was metal AF. Only reason I'm giving 4 stars and not 5 is that there is too much interior dialogue/monologue and not enough natural conversations for my liking. Didn't feel like any of the supporting characters were very important.

Amazing artwork with a fantastic villain that makes us feel the fear of the main character.
