A good book, this plot and story line seem quite different from the other books he has written. It was intriguing.

Big fan of Kevin O'Brien's books. His latest is clearly one of his best! It moves, it holds you in a tight grip of clearly defined characters, the good and the evil. Just enough zigs and zags to keep you wondering. Well thought out novel that keeps the readers turning the pages! Great job Mr. O'Brien!!!❤

This plot is edge of the seat suspenseful. There is a sudden twist around the midpoint that made it even more mysterious. The writing and characterizations are excellent . It is a stupendous , scary, who done it and the ending ties it all together. Wish I could give it more than 5 stars.

I love this writer!!! His plots and storylines are amazing. His writing keeps you glued! BUT.... After 6 books... I have yet to read one that doesn't involve kids or families. It's taking the uniqueness out of them for me. I am just looking for a little more. There is often a woman and she has a connection in some way with a younger/teenage person. Or kids or both. Maybe I am alone in needing more character change?? Again...great writer!! The characters and those involved...it's becoming too familiar book by book... and causing me to loose interest.

They Wont Be Hurt was just excellent. I really love all of Kevin O'Briens books. They are always a thrill ride. Only bummer is that they are so hard to put down I finish them in two days. Laura Gretchell lives in a secluded vineyard in Leavenworth, Washington with her husband and three children. Her husband is traveling to France and Italy to check out some wineries and do some research. Laura is home with her three children when suddenly two men break into her house. She soon learns one of them was a troubled student back years ago when she was a teacher. I wont tell the whole story but this is a fantastic gast moving and downright scary book. I loved it.

I thoroughly enjoyed this story. It held my interest from start to finish. The characters were very well described and I found myself wanting to jump into the book to help the victims. Just was so true life, I was nervous for the victims and that’s all I will tell you. Read it. I bet you will enjoy it as well.

Per usual, Kevin O'Brien keeps us guessing until the very end in They Won't be Hurt...a distraught mother with multiple conflicting emotions and a backstory that sets the stage of the tale. Throw in relatable teenage angst, truly evil guys, a sympathetic antagonist, and a San Juan island mass murder. I was turning the pages in the wee hours of the morning - probably not the best time to be reading about these ruthless murders. Well done, Mr. O'Brien!
