Nippon Kodo Kayuragi Agilawood

I saw these at Epcot and wanted to try them. They smell great but has a very short burn time. They are easy to clean. I use it in the bedroom with my closet doors open so my clothes are always smelling beautiful but not over powering. Will definitely purchase again.

This Nippon Kodo Aloeswood(Agarwood) incense is hands down one of the best smells I have smelled from incense and one of the best smells I smelled in life in general. The smell out of the box, before being out, is heavenly. It smells sweet, wooden. As with most smells it is difficult to describe what a smell is like. If I were to compare it to the smell of authentic sandalwood, this Alowswood incense is less sharp, and much more mellow. No smell of floral soap. When lit the smell retains the fragrance before lighting. Very mellow and pure. Not mellow like vanilla. Maybe it reminds of cinnamon pastry at the bakery, but when you smell it you know it is a kind of wood being burned. This smell immediately makes you feel some sort of kindness, and comfort. I would even describe it as a smell of some food cooking at home over open fire during holidays. If your exposure to incense so far is limited to the cheaper “blue box” Indian incense then you don’t yet know how good an incense can smell. You have to try this Nippon Kodo Aloeswood. It has to be mentioned that this series of Nippon Kodo incenses in striped boxes are also significantly better than the cheaper line of incense from this same company. So if you tried their smaller Morning Star boxes and felt like the smell wasn’t pure enough, with this series I definitely smell much less filler and much more aromatic substance.

It is very thin and burns in no time (about 15 mins). Up close, it does not smell too nice but at a distance, it is very pleasant and sweet. The whole room smells like spring flowers after burning just one.

It’s expensive but worth every penny if you enjoy fine incense! There is no bamboo core in the middle. Treat yourself and try it!

Got this one because I wanted to try something new and loved this so much. I highly recommend this. A must buy

i like the smell of this incense but it is probably not for everyone. if you prefer flowery or sweet smells this might be too perfumey for you.

愛犬が旅立って早5年、1週間に一度は線香代わりに焚いています。色んなお香を試しましたが、この香りが一番好みです。ウッディ系の深みのある香りでとても癒されます。そのせいか供養が習慣になって5年も続いてます、多分これからも、、ほぼ自己満足ですが。他の香りに変える予定はないです！

Einer meiner Lieblingsdüfte der Kayuragi Serie von Nippon Kodo. Wird aktuell nur noch übertroffen durch Sandelholz. Die Packung enthält 40, jeweils ca. 14cm lange Stäbchen - mit ca. 2mm im Durchmesser. In jeder aus Holz gefertigten Box (was ich super finde, da viele andere Hersteller nur 100% Pappe anbieten) findet sich auch ein ca. 2x2cm großer Stäbchenhalter. In diesem steht das Stäbchen senkrecht. Gut an dem Halter finde ich, dass das Loch durchgehend ist. Bei anderen Herstellern muss man oft mühsam die Reste ausklopfen. Ich kann nicht beurteilen, ob Aloeholz/Adlerholz so riecht wie bei Kayuragi oder ganz anders. Beim Sandelholz bin ich zum Beispiel vom Geruch der Kayuragi Nippon Kodo Version begeistert. Das als Alternative gekaufte Chië Incense Sandelholz (auch Nippon Kodo) riecht komplett anders. Und ich finde die Chië Version vom Sandelholz es nicht gut. Die Chië Räucherstäbchen in Weihrauch sind allerdings mega krass.
