OXO Salt and Pepper Grinder Set, Stainless Steel

I ordered these OXO Salt & Pepper Grinders and love them. They work great, and they have 5 grinder settings and they have a nice weight to them and are easy to use. I also like that the grinder mechanisms are located on the top of the grinders. No mess like grinders located on the bottom. And it was a nice treat to receive them filled with peppercorns and salt!

Should've bought this forever ago! I've had so many salt & pepper grinders and pitch them fairly quickly due to poor design/failure. Most all grinders have a little screw-knob at top (hate that stupid thing!), a tiny opening and a grinding rod right in the middle which makes refilling a pain. Then they stop grinding or hardly anything comes out, the grind adjustment constantly loosens. Not to mention the mess it makes sitting on the counter. My last set had to sit in ramekins to catch the mess. Well all my gripes went away when I bought these! First of all it refills from the bottom. No tiny screw knobs on top! There's a large twist cap you just turn to open/lock. There's a wide unencumbered opening to easily refill your rock salt and peppercorns. It holds a lot. It also comes pre-filled with salt rock & peppercorns if you don't have any. You click a little tab to choose the grind size you want. It stays in place! Best of all the grind is perfect. It grinds my Pink Himilayan Salt to a fine dust or a coarser texture. (My last grinder wouldn't even grind Himilayan without clogging). Peppercorns ground from fine to large flakes. I loved that I didn't need to turn this much to grind. It twists easily and efficiently from the bottom with large rubber grip. No more slipping or turning back and forth forever! And the grind comes from the top of the unit...no more mess on your counters - genius! In my 20 years of grinders, this is the first one I LOVE! Price was better than local retailers, so stop your search and buy this and be done!

I happen to love the taste of fresh ground pepper, and I always use freshly ground Mediterranean sea salt when cooking. This pair of grinders seemed like a perfect solution to use near my cooktop. First, they sit on the base with the grinder portion at the top, which means you no longer have those circles of pepper or salt dust to wipe up every time you pick up the grinders. I've found that the closures for the refill area seal well and have not loosened or spilled their contents. Each of the grinders includes a control that enables you to easily adjust the size of the grind on the fly. Finally, for someone who suffers from carpal tunnel syndrome, I've found that these grinders are easy to grip and use, This is actually my second set; these were purchased for use at the table. I've had the other set for over a year and they still look and work like new. For anyone looking for a pair of quality grinders, I think this would be a perfect solution. They are a bit pricier than some of their counterparts, but this pair performs well and should hold up in the long term, and they look good and are easily cleaned as well.

My sister turned me onto OXO kitchenware a few years back. She has issues gripping utensils. I liked them for their construction, how well they work and easy clean up. I saw these mills and loved the look and the quality materials they are made of. They are solidly constructed yet still light enough not to cause issues for those that OXO items were designed. Both mills have adjustments on the collar above the see-through storage portion. There are little "ears" that allow selection of one of five various settings for "fine" through coarse granules to exit the mill. I wouldn't call any of the dispensed salt or pepper "fine" but that's perfectly okay for me and my family. Please consider other options if you like "pepper dust" as these puppies just won't grind that fine. As others have noted, the mills set "upright" with the ceramic teeth facing the sky. It seems a little point, but how often have you lifted your old pepper mill to find flecks on the counter or table top? Filling and actual turning of the base portion to dispense either the pepper or salt is effortless. I couldn't be more pleased with my purchase. (In fact I have a feeling I know what I will get some family members for a certain upcoming holiday) Unless you simply don't have access anything other than pre-ground salt, I urge you to get the set that contains two mills, not the pepper mill and salt shaker) Both mills do come loaded ready for use. I read where some have dumped the peppercorns that came with, to refill them with the identical black peppercorns. Whole spices tend to have a lengthy shelf-life. Upon checking, I see they say peppercorns have about 4 yrs. A few have dumped the salt too. It must be due to their concerns with contamination rather than the salt going bad. Being a hearty soul, I opted to not waste what came to me. Pungent pepper and salt as fine or course as I ask is delivered painlessly in two beautiful little packages. I couldn't be happier with my decision.

After my cheap Wal-Mart set of grinders had the salt one break after around 5 years of service I wanted something nicer and likey more durable. These were more than 2x what i probably paid for the last set. The burr grinding mechanism is made of ceramics for durability. They come presented well in the box which arrived undamaged. Opening them up and using them was quick with just a few plastic covers to remove. They both come prefilled. The adjustments are easy and fast to change from coarse to finer gind and feel like they lock in place. The filler opening is also nice wide and not difficult to access. The grip you twist to grind your S&P feels solid in the hand. After cooking one meal with them and using them at the table I like this set. Edit: Several weeks in to owning these and still pleased with them. They are not cheap but seem to be of quality for the price.

This review echoes all the other 5⭐ ratings! I had some fancy electric salter grinders that despite doing there job well , ate batteries and needed constant filling! Like many we're changing things to be environmentally friendly and save money. I'd seen these grinders in a restaurant and took a photo, thanks to Google they popped up. Purchased here on Amazon as I couldn't find them in any local shops, despite asking nobody could order. . The grinders came pre filled which was nice , they've super easy to live with and to refill. Unscrew the cap in the base and that's it , fill up and screw back on. They hold enough salt and pepper to last well over a month of heavy daily use plus they deliver a great measure per twist ! The adjustment slide is nice and chunky while been a nice simple mechanical mechanism with visual dots and a satisfying slide into the next setting. Fine to course ! The grinding parts are ceramic and have dealt with pepper corns and rock salt like they're nothing. The twist grip is robust and is easy to grip , the size is great for elderly people or those with reduced grip. The Stainless coating is tough , they look great on the table and they're really satisfying to use as they're so well designed!

Great S&P grinders. When finished using they stand up with the grind ends upward. No mess. Also, because there is no S or P in the grind end when stored it's very easy to adjust the grind. No material blocking the change. We've been through many grinders both electric and manual. These top them all. This order was a gift for friends. We've been using ours for years.

I'd read some good reviews of these and they have not disappointed. You can get a good spread of salt and they grind the pepper well. Not much more to say other than yes I would buy them again.

Auch ein Teil weniger das mit der Zeit durch fettige Finger beim Kochen unschön aussieht bzw. gereinigt werden muss. + Befüllung auf der Rückseite über einen Schraubdeckel, sitzt dicht und sicher + Das Acrylglas hat eine sehr dicke Wandstärke, das hält sehr wahrscheinlich auch einen Sturz auf den Boden aus + Keramikmahlwerke laut Hersteller. Der Salzstreuer weiße Keramik, der Pfefferstreuer passend in schwarzer Keramik. + Die Mühle verjüngt sich auf der Oberseite beim Auslass, somit kann ich jetzt auch ein Frühstücks-Ei salzen/pfeffern, ohne dass auch der Teller rundherum berieselt wird. + Edelstahl beim Auslass, lässt sich gut abwischen. + Auch keine Kanten/Nischen am Auslass wo sich Schmutz/Körner sammeln können. + Mahlgradeinstellung optisch sofort erkennbar, das haben 99% aller Mühlen leider nicht. Somit kein Rätselraten mehr ob jetzt grober Pfeffer oder feiner Pfeffer raus kommt. + Mahlgradeinstellung über einen Drehring und nicht - wie üblich - über eine Schraube an der Achse, welche mit der Zeit beim Gewinde versalzt und dann immer schwergängiger wird + Grobe Einstellung ist grob genug für mich. + Feinste Einstellung ist fein genug für mich. Es ist unwesentlich unterscheidbar von feinem Salz aus dem Supermarkt + Der drehende Teil befindet sich auf der Unterseite, und nicht vorne am Auslass-Ring. Somit kann die vordere Hand viel besser zielen, weil sie still hält und nicht auch zusätzlich drehen muss. Genial. + Die Mühlen sind dicht, Mahlgut kommt nur vorne beim Auslass heraus. Das ist mE nicht bei jeder Mühle der Fall. + Preislich vergleichsweise in Ordnung - Verpackung nicht plastikfrei - Hätte mir auch den Verstell-Ring und den unteren Teil in der Farbe Weiß gewünscht bei der Salzmühle - Es gibt mehrere Versionen dieser Mühle, die technischen Unterschiede dieser Modelle kann ich als Kunde nicht nachvollziehen. Ich habe mich für dieses Set entschieden, weil es schon lange am Markt ist und angeblich langlebig sein soll. - Zerlegen lassen sich die Mühlen zwar zur intensiven Innen-Reinigung (falls jemals notwendig), aber der Prozess ist nicht sehr einfach (Schnappverschlüsse)
