Very comfortable, less rigid and more room for the big toe than the five ten ankle high boots I can't get anymore. They are sturdy and resist cuts from rocks and barnacles well. Good drain holes, and the fabric dries out easier in the sun. But overall they are wetter than neoprene boots, because the quilted fabric takes forever to drain, and I bring more water into the cockpit. And they don't seem to dry at all overnight in the dark. They are good for day hikes around camp, with good protection for toes and ankle bones, and good traction on rocks and logs. Among the best for not getting sand and gravel inside. When tied, they will not pull off my foot in deep mud like low-cut water shoes. Review: Good drain, excellent grip. - Super comfy, grip is excellent. Removable insert makes it possible to use them with waders if you size up. I've been using them all season this year, and have zero complaints. ## Features - Modern Water Bootie | Astral’s better bootie for kayaking offers stability, protection, and insulation without the use of toxic neoprene. - G.SS Rubber Flex Grip Outsole | Sticky, durable rubber with a flexible outsole provides exceptional grip on both wet and dry surfaces. - Balanced Geometry | A flexible outsole, wider toe box, and Level Footbed’s zero drop offer a barefoot-like feel. - Water Ready | Quick-drying canvas upper with drainage ports that reduce the entry of sand or silt, and 3mm quilted airmesh insulates without neoprene. - Technical Details | [Intended Use] Water, Boat; [Drop] 0mm; [Stack Height] 11mm; [Weight] 9.8oz; [Shape] Original Shape (Secure Midfoot & Heel, Wide Toebox); [Upper] Canvas, 1060D Ballistic Nylon; [Lining] 3mm Quilted Spacer Mesh; [Midsole] Removable 45C Closed Cell EVA; [Arch] Minimal; [Outsole] Flex Grip, G.SS Rubber ## Technical Specifications | Specification | Value | |---------------|-------| | ASIN | B00XMBWYNU | | Best Sellers Rank | #970,941 in Clothing, Shoes & Jewelry ( See Top 100 in Clothing, Shoes & Jewelry ) #471 in Women's Water Shoes | | Boot Form Type | Work Boot | | Brand | Astral | | Closure Type | Lace-Up | | Closure type | Lace-Up | | Color | Black/Black | | Customer Reviews | 4.5 out of 5 stars 150 Reviews | | Heel Type | No Heel | | Inner material | EVA Foam | | Item Weight | 1.5 pounds | | Manufacturer | Astral | | Material Fabric | Neoprene, Nylon, Polyester, Rubber | | Model Name | 6hymbb | | Outer Material | Canvas, Neoprene, Nylon, Polyester, Rubber | | Outer material | Neoprene | | Pattern | Solid | | Seasons | Winter | | Shoe Height Map | Ankle-High | | Sole Material | Rubber | | Sole material | Rubber | | Style Name | Minimalist | | Style Number | 6HYMBB | | Toe Style | Closed Toe | | UPC | 818040015393 | | Unit Count | 1 Count | | Water Resistance Level | Water Resistant | | lining-description | Natural Rubber | ## Images ![Hiyak Water Shoes - Image 1](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/71jSPNS+yYL.jpg) ## Available Options This product comes in different **Color, Size** options. ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Lightweight, comfortable, very sturdy. *by M***E on November 6, 2019* I've used these over 18 months now, ocean and inland kayaking. Removable insert makes it possible to use them with waders if you size up. I've been using them all season this year, and have zero complaints. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ So far very good. *by R***S on January 6, 2026* So far very happy with these shoes. Comfy right away. Good if you have wide feet at the toes, they don't pinch the toes. Light weight. Be aware that these have a rubbery insole the normal insole may not fit the shoe's unique shape but I feel this could be remedied with the right socks if it's an issue. The shoelace protection flap is actually a really great innovation and should be universally adapted. --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - 🛒 **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** — Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** — Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - 💰 **No Hidden Fees** — All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - 🔄 **15-Day Free Returns** — Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - 🔒 **Secure Payments** — Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** — Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.uy/products/101307543-hiyak-water-shoes](https://www.desertcart.uy/products/101307543-hiyak-water-shoes) --- *Product available on Desertcart Uruguay* *Store origin: UY* *Last updated: 2026-10-25*
