The power and control wires and ground (4 wires total), needed a 3 pole switch to allow each indoor unit to have power cut individually (to meet code). These are the only 3-pole on/off switches I could find and seem to be good quality, but are kind of pricey. If you want to install to code these are likely your only choice. desertcart had by far the best price on them. I installed these in the wall (with normal old-work boxes) next to each unit. Worked great. Just what I needed. Used a standard switch plate. I used the 14g 4-wire cable available from eComfort where I got my mini-split units. The wire supplies power from the outdoor unit into the indoor units though the switches. Using it in a 3 phase circuit.** A: as I understand it . ,it is 30 amp. total . **Q: What kind of breaker do you use with it** A: You need a three pole breaker. Three phases with the amperage based on the load your using it for. I'm using mine as a 1hp motor starter. In addition I have an emergency cut off box next to the unit I'm running.
