## Description

Clover is an important part of having a green, low-maintenance lawn that doesn't need a lot of water. Clover's deep roots help your lawn stay greener, longer during short-term drought conditions. Clover also self-fertilizes when you return the clover clippings to the lawn after mowing - meaning less work for you! Scotts Turf Builder Clover Lawn is specially formulated with Strawberry Clover to establish fast and help your lawn thrive. Set your mower to the lowest setting and cut entire lawn before applying this product. Use a Scotts spreader to apply clover seed over existing lawn. Water two time daily to keep the soil surface wet for the first two weeks. Clover will begin to grow in 5-7 days. Once your clover is fully established, mow and return clippings to your lawn for a natural feeding. One 2 lb. bag of Scotts Turf Builder Clover Lawn covers 1,000 sq. ft.

Review: Your Fescue will love this clover! - Updated with picture at 6 weeks. Mowed first time - very thick! This clover is a bit different than Dutch White... it's a brighter green with a smaller leaf size. I tested it out in the back this past spring and was happy with how easily it took and the look of it. It didn't flower in its first season and I'm not sure it ever does? I can tell you it can handle heavy traffic from kids and dog activities. The micro clover from outside pride did not take as well as this one (tried it last season and it came in just okay but not dense, and it also wasn't very micro) We live in zone 7 where it transitions between the North and the South. We have tried so many types of grass that claim to be drought tolerant and heat tolerant as our weather is all over the place and we are on a well. None of them survive their first summer season! I read that clover is a natural fertilizer for other grasses and I can attest to this as the fescues in the back survived the summer alongside this clover. I only had to mow for the grasses because the clover never got to be higher than 2 in and I wonder if this will remain the case? I love the look of fluffy clover dominating over a fine blade grass, and I know it will be a lot less maintenance and lawn mowing, so this year I bought five bags of this stuff. to prepare I bought the aerator sandals on desertcart: https://www.desertcart.com/dp/B07C6J64FG/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_WEWGFbMXT9BB5 I mowed our mixed grasses to the lowest level while wearing the sandals. I raked the loose stuff away and cast this clover seed by hand generously. I was diligent about using the sprinkler on days that we didn't get rain... It's a whole process to move it around to cover all the areas but totally worth it for this stuff to establish properly. They germinated in about three days. The picture I posted is day five. I was surprised to see how well it took even in the wild thatchy Bermuda patches. I think the aeration played a role in the success, so I highly recommend doing that if you have dense clay soil. I overseeded with a lesser portion of a fine fescue hoping that this will dominate and keep the fescue healthy during the hot months. If you want to worry less about your lawn, introduce beautiful texture and color and spend more time enjoying it versus maintaining it, buy this particular clover seed and buy a generous amount! I really like the brighter green and smaller leaf size of this variety! It looks more whimsical :-) I will follow up with another photo once this has made it through an entire season. Hopefully this helps other people who have been struggling to establish something consistent and low maintenance as I have!
Review: They are lovely, but Be patient. - I over-seeded them in early spring. Germination was slow and sporadic, but they are growing well once the weather has warmed up. Pretty flowers and spent flowers do look like strawberries. They have not filled the site (about 50% now in Aug). I'm waiting to see how far they will grow this season, and I will likely repeat the process next year to get better coverage and density. It's expensive compared to more common clovers, but strawberry clovers are hard to find.

## Features

- Add to existing grass to keep a greener lawn with less maintenance
- Naturally self-fertilizes when clover clippings are returned to yard
- Formulated with Strawberry Clover to establish fast
- Grows in tough, salient soils

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Be patient and prep well!
*by C***S on August 26, 2020*

After throwing down the seeds over a large spot of my yard I dug up to fix a plumbing problem, I gave it all a light covering of saw dust to help hold the moisture and shield it from the direct sunlight. This seemed to really help it out, as the small area I missed with sawdust was no where near as fast to grow. Watered it daily, just to keep the soil moist and threw down a little bit of lime to counteract my slightly acidic soil. So far, it has survived my 2 dogs running across it and my wife and I carefully walking over it. If it wouldn't block access to the back yard, I would have barricaded it off, but I am very happy it is hearty enough to survive this kind of thing! I also realized far too late that I had comically over-seeded the area, since I was just hand-throwing the seed, but it doesn't seem to have been a problem. The picture of the clover puppies is 2-3 months after planting. It takes a while to establish itself and doesn't show much growth at all for several weeks. I was beginning to think the seeds were duds, then seemingly overnight, the clover exploded out of the ground, so be patient! Supposedly, it will grow in all climate zones, as well as shade/direct sunlight, and is drought resistant. We'll have to see how it handles a frigid Alaskan winter, whether or not it will survive the limited rain under my deck and the area of dense shade. I'm trying to be optimistic, but only time will tell. The product picture makes it look like a deceptively large bag of seeds since it doesn't give you anything for scale, so I was surprised at how small the bag was in real life. I attached a picture to give you an idea of how small of a bag it is. This is why I knocked off a star.
