## Description

The Snorkel Dry Top uses a patented design to keep the inner tube of the snorkel dry. An internal buoy rises when submerged to keep the snorkel dry, and falls when out of the water to allow for easy breathing. Brief instructions explain how to easily attach and remove the device. Review: Keeps it dry... - I bought this for my Finis Snorkel, and first I must say to install it(it does say this in its instructions) Place both the top and snorkel end in some hot water for a bit...it softens them both so that you can slide them together. It works...very well...surface dives only to return to the surface with a dry snorkel. Be warned that as the snorkle is exeptionaly long, adding this does cause slight breathing resistance. I think its worth it though and as many folks use this for lap swim, its kinda nice to have the resistance.

When I received it, I tried to put the top on without running hot water over the snorkel and the snorkel top (like the directions suggested). When I did submerge both in hot water, the top slipped right in. In my opinion, this upgrade to the snorkel makes a world of difference in an already great product.

**Q: The dry top doesn't fit my snorkel. I used it for the first time in the pool today & when I flipped, it came off. Anyone else had this happen?**
A: It sounds like you didn't have it "seated" all the way in.  Look at the overlap in the picture.  You have to put the snorkel in hot water for a few minutes to get them to slide together or apart.  At the moment I have one that is actually stuck together that I've given up on trying to separate for the time being.  In any case the extra labor on your lungs feels weird & tiring even if you are extremely "fit" (I can swim over 19 miles in 9 hours in a pool).  I still would not recommend it to anyone even in rough seas, you are better off just blowing hard once in awhile to clear or plugging the top & blowing the water out of the purge valve once in awhile to clear.

**Q: Is this compatible with finis freestyle snorkel?**
A: Yes, it will fit, however, it makes it very difficult to breath. I took mine off. I do not recommend it..

**Q: Fit any brand of snorkel?**
A: This dry top is designed to fit the Finis Swimmers snorkel only. I returned the product because it restricted the air flow so much I could not breath with it in my snorkel.

**Q: Anyone here can tell me how this add on works on flip turns? It protects from the water? Do we still have to blow air strongly get the water out?**
A: Yes you should to blow air strongly to get the water out. However, I advise you to do the regular turn instead. Yes you will lose some speed but you will keep some energy.

### ⭐⭐⭐ Works with minor modification

For the background, I am a Master Swimmer and swim between 4,500 and 5,000 meters 3 times a week. Bought this to add to my FINIS snorkel for two reasons. One (primary), to reduce the air flow for hypoxic training, and two, to keep water out. Both work OK. It took me a while to get used to the snorkel when I first got it - it was already restricting air compared to my natural freestyle breathing. But I got used to it. Now I notice additional reduction again. This really helps me working on efficiency. It does a good job keeping the water out, too, even on flip turns. I may even try it while doing fly. One minor gripe I had with it was around fit. A few reviews and even the enclosed instructions indicated that it may not easily fit into the snorkel, suggesting to warm it up in hot water first. My experience was opposite - this top was too loose and wouldn't stay in. I tried it in two snorkels (my daughter uses one, too), so it's definitely the top and not the snorkel that's defective. However, the fix was easy - I wrapped some electrical tape around before inserting it and it created a good seal.
