The Fishbites 0083 E-Z Shrimp Saltwater Long Lasting Bait can be used on a bare hook or as a trailer on a jig or skirt and each bait strip is 1/2 inch wide and 12 inches long. They can be used to catch a whole host of saltwater species. The lures are made of biodegradable hydrogel plastic making them environmentally safe. Just cut it, hook it and cast it. These are great. Add a small piece on the hook before putting frozen shrimp on the hook and they work pretty well. I actually caught a baby hammerhead shark on a just a Fishbite on the hook with no other bait. I would rank this with thawed frozen shrimp just under live shrimp.

When the conditions are good (clear water, water temperature, wind direction and speed, tide stage, birds and dolphins feeding and, of course, targeted fish are present) Fishbites has advantages over live bait.
