I bought this because the only life proof case available or my phone this time went up in price and the only available color option was horrific.This basically is a life proof fre case, except made more cheaply from what I can tell. now don’t let that scare you too much, this is still a 3-star phone case, which is Still good, just not life proof 5 star. With that being said, Time may hone my opinion as this review is being written not long after purchase.Not that I am a plastic expert but it seems the material used is substandard to the life proof. Don’t plan to use headphones with this case, because I’ve yet to find any that fit in the hole provided, and the adapter that comes with this case for your headphones is spitting distance from worthless, if you play with it enough and hold it perfectly still in a specific position, you can get sound to come through, sometimes even through both earbuds. (I gave this case four stars until I found that out.) The camera light does not add up perfectly with the camera porthole provided, however the camera itself does lineup, as does all other buttons and openings. There is no picture of that as that was not noticed until my found that I was using to take pictures with, was inside of the case, also something you can’t tell from the photographs is that the edges are thicker and rounder in the life proof case edges. The front touchscreen and back however are the same profile. The two piece case did not go together as confidently as the life proof did. The closures at the bottom push in as opposed to snap or screw in (The snap in life proof charging port cover is not featured in the photographs, seeing as how it was crushed off when open recently, The nail in the coffin for the old case btw) The switch to put your phone on silent mode is a turn table instead of a switch, and the home button is mounted a little deeper. But everything seems to function fine. There is no gasket for waterproofing like in the life proof (you’ll notice the green thing in one of the pictures, that’s the gasket however after taking my phone out of the life proof case it came out of its slot) so I admit I’m worried about the waterproofing aspect. My phone case gets subjected to a lot of abuse as I work as a roofer and in my free time I travel, hike, backpack, camp, kayak and other activities that subject phones, or rather their cases and possibly phone if the case is in adequate, to damage and abuse. I need a hard-core case that can take punishment, but still slim and sleek enough to easily fit in a suit pocket or go out on the town with, with the least bulk possible. If you’re like me, you could definitely do worse than this case. It may be a knock off life proof, but that doesn’t mean it’s bad. You could also call it a budget life proof, and if you can’t afford the expensive price tag or can’t stand the currently available wretched color options for a life proof fre, this is a great alternative. I usually burn through one life proof case a year (sometimes stretching it to 1 1/2 years) so we’ll see how long this one lasts in comparison. If anything interesting takes place that I feel those buying this case should know about in the meantime, or anytime proven alterations to what I’ve written here already, I’ll try to find some time to update this.Most comparisons here are documented in the photographs for your convenience. The life proof is the gray and black (my old case) and the cellever (this case, my current one) is the red and black. The life proof is always featured on the top or the right, the cellever is always featured on the bottom or the left.
