The lower bar in particular please** A: The lower bar is 40" wide end to end. The upper bar is 39". I have it mounted on a 36" framed opening so the lower bar overlaps the trim by 2" each side. **Q: Is there a video to show how to open the braces? Mine arrived stuck in closed position and I do not know how to slide them down as suggested below.** A: No video. It is easy to open.
