We have a working line GSD, and fitted him with the collar when he was about 4 months old, Our trainer adjusted the collar and showed us how to use the collar. Each dog is going to be different so it would be best to have a knowledgeable person to fit your collar and show you how to use it. I am not familiar with your dog, so I cannot give you specifics, a qualified dog trainer would be your best hope. I can say that the collar does what it says it will do, a trainer showing you how to use the Educator will be invaluable. **Q: What's the purpose of the glove? What should we do with it?** A: It's just an extra. You can use it to brush/groom dog's hair. Has nothing to do with the mini educator. **Q: Does it work on small dogs?** A: Please, please, please, get a decent trainer to show you how to use this tool of the dog training world. It works on all dogs, however not all dogs need a high level of correction. We had a private trainer show us how to use it, and I would highly recommend anybody going this route do the same. We tried the collar out by placing it on our hands and arms and having the other person hit the button. It wasn’t even as powerful as walking across a carpet and touching a metal door knob. Just the slightest tap. There’s a boost setting which is adjustable and a vibration button. Sometimes our dog needs something stronger if he doesn’t respond.
