Adapters with wider SATA connector blocks require the drive to be removed from the caddy first. Not a big deal, but this is more convenient. The cable is 16" long, which is a good length, allowing versatile positioning of the drive and easy coiling to fit into my toolbox. The adapter works great and seems well built. Unlike other adapters, this one shows up in Windows' "safe ejection" dialog as the model of the hard drive itself, rather than the model of the adapter's chipset, which is helpful.
