Review: Great Headset with Great Support ! - Great Headset with Great Support !! I did a lot of research on headsets prior to purchasing Leitner's LH280 and it's worth every penny. I host a lot of online meetings for work even before covid, so I wanted to make sure that the headset I was going to purchase had the following specific qualities and features: 1. Great quality sound (both incoming & outgoing) 2. Needs to be very reliable 3. Needs to be wireless 4. It had to be compatible with my Polycom VXX-601 desktop phone so operation would be seamless when switching back & forth between the handset or speakerphone. 5. It has to look professional, like it was made for the Polycom versus one that is a work-around where you have to connect it to the desktop phone handset and then to the headset base. 6. It needs to be able to connect to both the Polycom phone and a computer so I don't have to unplug it from one device to another in order to use it. Installation was extremely easy ! Operation of the headset is seamless with my Polycom desktop phone both from a functionality point of view & physically. The footprint is small and connects directly to the phone base itself which keeps the desktop phone look complete and professional while the headset button on the Polycom phone interacts with the headset perfectly with calls including switching calls back/forth from the handset/speaker/headset. The sound quality is excellent but interestingly enough, I was hosting a meeting one day and got some feedgack that although, the sound quality was still excellent; it sounded like I was really far away from the headset. So I called support, left a voicemail and Raghu got back to me immediately within 30 minutes and not only did he show me how to increase the microphone volume, he also gave me some great tips. I somehow must have turned down my microphone volume when I was moving the base around. Some additional positives: It has a 5-year warranty which is awesome, I was able to connect the headset to both my desktop phone and my computer at the same time where all I have to do is press a button on the base to switch back/forth, and since it's wireless; gives me the freedom to move away from my desk and/or while I am giving a presentation. The signal was strong enough for me to walk down our hallway to the other side of the building (not that I would do that normally but since the office is empty due to covid, why not). The headset is comfortable but not able to wear it for long periods of time. I am pretty sure that's a "me" issue and will try some of the other ear pieces that was included as part of the package. I highly recommend it. Glenn
Review: Great mic!!! - Update: subtracting 1 star because it has crosstalk artifact, where there is leakage of sound played through the speakers into the mic, which makes it harder to listen to music while working. I bought 2 sets and they both have this. Still a great option though Review for Sennheiser PC 7 USB - Mono USB TLDR: the mic is amazing, I would say on par with the best of them. The speaker is mediocre, but that doesn't matter for my use case. Best headset for work! Long version: So, I've been doing obsessive research on microphones because my job involves talking into a microphone all day for speech recognition software to recognize and transcribe, so if I have a good mic quality, this saves me from having to spend a lot of time correcting these typos, or to have embarassing typos in the documents I'm creating. So for me, it's actually really important. I found a website that does very good scientific and objective mic reviews: rtings.com The Cooler Master MH751 had one of the highest mic/recording test ratings, so I ordered that one, but then I realized that I can't wear that 9 hours per day because it makes my ears warm (like every over-the-ear headset)... so I saw that this headset (Sennheiser PC 7 USB - Mono USB) was recommended by desertcart, and it was $20, so I decided to give it a try. desertcart was right to recommend it. The mic quality is on par with the MH751, but it doesn't heat up my ears b/c it has one speaker that doesn't cover the ear. So I did a test where I made identical recordings with 5 headsets that I have: Sony MDRXB50AP Extra Bass, Bose QC25, Jabra UC voice 550, and the Sennheiser PC 7. I asked my girlfriend to rate the mic quality (without telling her which is which), and she rated them like this (with 1 being the best): 1. MH751 2. Sennheiser PC 7 3. Bose QC25 4. Sony MDRXB50AP 5. Jabra UC voice 550 and here's how I ranked them: 1. Sennheiser PC 7 2. MH751 3. Bose QC25 4. Sony MDRXB50AP 5. Jabra UC voice 550 The speaker sound quality isn't bad but it's not great. It does leak sound into it's surroundings if you're going to be listening to moderately loud music, but I don't really care because I'm using this for work and not pleasure. It's completely fine for making VoIP calls, which is the only time I need the speaker for work. The mic stays on the left side only, which could be a limitation for people with hearing loss on one side, but for me it's not an issue luckily. It's very light. There's no padding on the top headband but that's not an issue, I feel like it's very comfortable. It's slightly on the tighter side for my giant melon, but again I feel like it's very comfortable and I can wear it for a long time without problems. It does pick up some background voices and mouse/keyboard clicks, however, I'm planning to use Nvidia Voice on an RTX graphics card to use AI to filter that out, so should be golden at that point. Overall, if you need a good headset for work, I would highly recommend this. The design is cool looking but the build does feel kind of cheap (and it is) so you have to be careful with it. I'm thinking of buying 2 just in case this one breaks down the line, but there will probably be nicer headphones by then (assuming it's not a post-apocalyptic society at that time). For the price, it's a no brainier, it's the best headset for work purposes. Very happy and excited about this purchase! They're basically giving them away at $20. ## Questions & Answers

**Q: Can this headset be used on the right ear
?. In other words does mic boom rotate 180 degrees?**
A: Nope. It only has about 110 degree rotation. Left ear only

**Q: Folks with big heads, how well does this fit you? I have a pretty large skull and other headsets I have tried squeeze my head something fierce.**
A: As one with a big head, I have had no problem with this headset. Pressure is light and not tiring after hours of use.

**Q: I couldn't tell from the photos but does it fold compactly for travel? My bag real estate isn't vast so compactness is key for me - thanks!**
A: The speaker part (Mic) goes up, but it does not fold more than that.

**Q: Is there an adapter with a standard headset jack? I wanted to use on PS4 controller and this seemed to be the only monoaural one.**
A: No adapter included. You would have to purchase one separately. There is only a USB connector at the end of the cable.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Lasted over three years until the cat got to it
*by A***N on March 23, 2024*

I bought this in February 2021 to use for WFH and have used it every work day since for hours upon hours. I have a phone heavy job. It worked well that entire time. The sound has been very clear and people on the other end could hear me even when I had construction going on in my house. My company has replaced my laptop four times during that period and it always recognized it as a headset pretty much immediately. The part that goes over the head is plastic and has bent outwards so it’s not as secure as it used to be, but was still very functional. Sadly, my cat knocked my laptop off the table a couple of weeks ago and it landed on the plug, bending it up. It still works, but the sound is sometimes fuzzy and it doesn’t always recognize I have it plugged in immediately. I have to fiddle around with it. I don’t want to risk not having a headset if it goes out completely so it’s been retired and will serve as the emergency backup. It does not have the volume or answering button on the cord. The cord is pretty thin and tangles easily because it’s so long. I had to secure it. It’s also left eared only, which was an unusual choice for the manufacturer. I am left handed and left eared so this wasn’t a problem for me.
