A: It has a 3 position switch.
1)Off
2)Chime sounds for 1 second only when door is opened, then stops. 
3)Alarm sounds continously when door is opened only stopping when door is closed or unit turned off.

**Q: What’s there to stop an intruder just switching it to off? Thanks**
A: Depends where you place it

**Q: How to turn off when i am entering the flat?**
A: There's a switch on the side of the alarm unit to switch between chime/alarm/off. Turn it to the off position but remember to set it to alarm when you go out.

**Q: Should the green indicator light be on or does it only come on when the batteries are low?**
A: Both just check on your batteries as the light is on for both
