The rack went together easily, feels sturdy, and looks great. Dumbbells themselves are excellent. There wasn't any smell associated with them, even right out of the box. I did wipe each one down with a damp towel, but that was the extent of the cleaning necessary. Overall, I'm thrilled with this purchase.
