The router is upstairs at the front of the house and so we tested this downstairs in the back of the house in the kitchen-diner where the wifi signal is weakest. The Coredy E300 worked really well and even extended the wireless network out into the back garden where it wasn’t working before. It added a couple of bars to the signal strength indicator on my iPad when used sat outside. It definitely made a difference to the reach and speed of the wifi internet connection.Setup was really easy using the WPS button on our router and on the Coredy E300. It only took a couple minutes for the two to link and pair. The Quick Installation guide is easy to follow and simply explains the WPS and the alternative setup using the Ethernet cable supplied and a laptop or similar device. All very easy and you will require your router wifi security code to enable your products to safely and securely connect to the Coredy E300 signal. The other great use for this item is the fact you can attach an Ethernet cable into the bottom (actually there are 2 connection points) of the Coredy E300 and then connect to a TV, Laptop or other device allowing a fast reliable hard-wired connection to the internet. I can happily recommend this product as it does as the supplier described. This item was provided by the supplier in return for an honest opinion. ### ⭐ 1.0 out of 5 stars Did not extend a high speed wireless signal at high speed! *by T***R on Reviewed in the United States on March 24, 2016* I could not install the extender using WPS but was successful using the web site installation method. After installation,I ran a speed test on the extended wireless signal. I found the output speed to be only an average of 11 MPS on the wireless signal from my router that has an average 90 MPS output. After several re-installs and re-boots, I called Coredy customer service and the rep said he would have his Tech send me an email. Below is the exact text of the e-mail I received very shortly after my call. I, of course, returned the extender to Amazon for their amazing, no-hassle and rapid refund. I hope the info in the below e-mail helps customers who are considering this, or any, wireless extender and saves them time and perhaps money.Exact text of e-mail from Coredy Technical Rep:"I hope you are doing well. If you repeater is in the same room as your PC then it is getting the same signal your PC is (which is not good). Your extender needs to be between your PC and the wireless router. I assume you’re using 2.4ghz wireless. Make sure you are using only channels 1,6, or 11. Also make sure your channel width is set to 20mhz, not 40 or Auto.Your extender can do 300Mbit theoretical. That is if it gets a very good signal. Now to compare that to a wired connection you have to cut that in half as wireless signals are half duplex. So now we are talking 150Mbit. Now wireless also has a lot of overhead. You typically only get about 65% of the bandwidth. So now we are talking 97.5Mbit/s. Since you are running in extender mode, you half to cut it in half again, so about 48Mbit/s. So 48Mbit/s would be the absolute best if you had an excellent signal. If the signal falls off even a little bit then your bandwidth could cut in half again (24Mbit). If you have a weak signal, from the wifi router to the extender, or from the extender to your computer, then your speed can be even less. On top of this you are sharing bandwidth with all other wireless devices in your house,Range extenders for wifi usually cut the bandwidth in half, but that is for the link speed basically. The reason is because repeaters (extenders) have to talk to both sides at the same time, which means extenders have to talk to the PC first, get the data, then transmit it to the router. It then has to wait for the router to respond, then send the response back to the PC. That adds a lot of overhead, generally cutting bandwidth in half." ### ⭐⭐ 2.0 out of 5 stars Unreliable *by K***E on Reviewed in the United States on November 7, 2016* This was very difficult to get working. I consider myself a reasonably intelligent person, but the directions were so unclear that it took me days to get it working. Once it started working, it was fine.... for a few months anyway. Now, it routinely drops the signal. I've had to reset it a number of times. I've had to reset it so many times that the button actually broke off. Now I just unplug it and plug it back in. It will work for a little while, and then I will see it blinking meaning it's not picking up a signal. I've had to go to the part of the house where the router is to make sure that's working, which it always is. It's inconvenient to continue trying to figure out the problem. I paid way too much money for this. I gave it 2 stars instead of one because when it was working, it did make all the difference. I just thought for $35 it would work for more than a few months.
