When I take it traveling, I wrap a rubber band around it so it doesn't unlatch and make a mess. The larger one latches great. The inner container lids are a little difficult to open but not a big deal. The little stickers that come with it stick well and are big enough to write enough info on them. Also, when the lid on the little one is closed, there is space between the section dividers - so that if the pills are small enough, they don't stay divided if turned any way but horizontal.
