**Q: I have a turntable that i can't seem to connect to my sonos speakers via bluetooth. do i need a bridge of some sort?**
A: I used a Sonos port to connect my receiver/amplifier to my Sonos speakers. My phonograph is powered through my amp. Port won’t provide the power only the connection between your receiver or amplifier and your Sonos speakers. The Sonos online chat people have been very good at helping me design my system.

**Q: Why is this device so expensive? It has no amplifier circuitry and has less features than older sonos connect products**
A: Price gouging. Sonos audio can't even touch my pair of Focal Bookshelf speakers, paired with a Martin Logan Depth subwoofer, powered by Emotiva's Balanced 1000W amp and 2 channel Preamp. Just get a cheaper Bluetooth one and stream from Amazon music, or your personal library.

**Q: Does this stream in hi res?  I have a Tidal subscription and want something that will.**
A: Depends a little on your definition of hi res.  With the new S2 operating system the Port will deliver 24/44 which is CD quality; the Sonos/S2 web site has details.  The Yamaha WXC-50 does claim hi res streaming, up to 24/192 I believe, and is about $100 cheaper.

**Q: does it support utube music or pandora?**
A: Don't know about You Tube but it does pandora.

The SONOS port (which replaces and costs much more than their older Connect) is designed to be a hub or bridge to or among other SONOS products (primarily speakers). It is wicked easy to install and configure with the SONOS app (I used an iPhone but it works equally well with Android). BUT... (1) It is expensive to a tool that does only one thing. (2) Configuring the source that one outputs into the SONOS port depends on the way that source is defined and SONOS only tells you which ports to use for input and output and to push the button to link to a Newtork or Bluetooth. (3) For making an AV/Stereo receiver work with SONOS port you will need either good documentation from the manufacturer of the source or some kind citizen in a support grou[ who has been there and done that. (4) It took me several hours a day for 5 days to make it play nicely with my Onkyo 6100 A/V receiver, with ZERO help from Onkyo. (5) Now that it is set up and working, it is great. So, check in advance that you have the information about configuring your source.
