**Q: Is it waterproof??**
A: Proof?  I'd say no, I wouldn't wear it while scuba diving.  }:‑) 

Resistant though, yes I'd say it's as resistant as normally would be needed.

**Q: how large is the side pocket? Can it hold a 500ml water bottle?**
A: Yes.

**Q: Hi, does the end of the laptop compartment touches the bottom of the bag?**
A: Yes, it does. I added a slim, but firm spongy material to keep the laptop from touching the bottom of the bag. The material is something that I received as packing material on another order.

**Q: Is this approve by the TSA for a carry on bag?**
A: TSA doesn't approve bags. Carry-on policies are set by airlines and can vary a lot. I have used this Samsonite bag both as a carry-on and as a personal (under-seat) item with no problems. But, check your airline policies - Frontier, for example, has resorted to aggressive size-checking at the gate with punitive extra charges if your bag doesn't qualify.

This bag is great to take as a personal item when flying. It is very well made, of quality materials and fasteners. It has a front section under the clasped flap with pockets for phone or ipad, credit cards, etc. Another zipped pocket on the top of the flap for boarding passes. Roomy interior with a padded divider to protect a laptop or ipad, and still plenty of space for food, water bottle, toiletries etc. A removable shoulder strap is adjustable so you can wear it cross-body. It also has a strap on the back with velcro in the middle so you can insert the handle of your roller bag and velcro it securely. Fits easily under the plane seat too. Very satisfied with this purchase.
