We have certain sizes to serve our rice, macaroni salad, and our poke (raw fish) to correct portions. Not sure how it will last since we just bought it but it feels good on the hands and does the job. The scoop is not too tight on releasing the item into the bowl or plate. Also like it because it was inexpensive!

Does not work on FULLY FROZEN (read in hard to scoop) ice cream. I was disappointed yet I will not return it as it is great for other uses - like using for dispensing cake batter into cup cake containers to bake - eliminates the mess and gives equal amounts to each cup cake..
