Basically:1: Add weight 1 1/4 pound weight - CAP Barbell Standard 1-Inch Cast Iron Weight Plate, Single (Cost $2 - $4) I used a glue gun to glue the weight on. First, I let it sit out in the sun to make sure the glue didn't set too fast on the cold surface.2. Glue on a piece of rubber to the bottom of the weight (rubber shelf liner works well.)3. Use a 12 ounce sprite bottle to dispense the bubble solution.All of this information was from the website (except the sprite bottle. He uses a different type of bottle). He even has a video to explain everything. *The original design of this machine was more stable and it didn't jump around. Unfortunately, the new design needs some tweaking to make it work. I love my bubble machine now. **Q: How loud is this when it's on?** A: I don't remember it being very loud at all. The kids loved it. **Q: How long does one bottle of bubbles last? My son's birthday is 2 hours and I need to know how many bottles to purchase. Thanks!** A: The small bottle that comes with this (4 oz or so) lasts about 15 minutes. You can empty the entire small bottle into the unit's reservoir, but at around 15 minutes, the unit will start to sputter as the wands no longer get fully immersed in the bubble solution. Buy the 2 liter bubble solution, it was just $5. **Q: is it automatic** A: It requires six AA batteries and has an on and off switch on the back. A series of wands rotate through the reservoir of bubble solution and then past a fan. I was hoping it would had been here for Easter but the kid still love it. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Bubbles galore! *by J***S on June 13, 2013* I have just ordered my second one of these from Amazon because the children love the bubbles it makes. We had our original one for two years and it had a lot of use as I run a day nursery from our home. It stopped working a month ago when it was knocked backwards on the picnic table and the bubble mixture got into the fan motor. As with so many of these machines it is very poorly designed, standing on three legs instead of four, with one front leg on each side and one much lower leg in the middle at the back. Not sure why they could not have put four legs on it to make it stable as it is a very bad design indeed! It knocks over incredibly easily because of this, so I am very surprised that it lasted us as long as it did, as it has had so much bubble mixture tipped into the fan over those two years! Another bad design is the battery compartment which is hard to get into and hard to screw back together again. There is a press-&-clip-on cover over the battery compartment so the inner compartment could have just been a slip-in & click-in type door, instead of the tiny annoying cheap screws that it has. Having said all this though, and despite the poor design and the fact that you will get through batteries at a reasonably quick rate, especially when it is being used several times a day as it is here, you and your children will get a lot of pleasure from owning it. So I have to recommend this bubble blower just because it is cheap, portable, and gives a lot of pleasure if you treat it right and wash the bubble compartment with its removable bubble wheel after each use. I have taken this machine to the park and delighted the children there too, but you have to guard it or the children will want to come and touch and move the machine which will end the fun abruptly! I am now going to buy a more expensive plug-in bubble machine on Amazon as well. One that produces even more bubbles, because we love bubbles and the children just can't ever get enough of them! :~) So a more durable machine that does not use batteries makes sense for our deck.
