So I was naturally very curious and excited to see for myself what I thought of this book. Mr. Lindsay does not (in this one Dexter fans opinion) disappoint. Personally I don't see how there could've been any other possible ending and Jeff Lindsay wrote a very powerful ending that hints (to me) that Dexter wasn't as wholly unfeeling and cold hearted as he always believed himself to be. That's really all I can say on that without giving away key information resulting in nasty spoilers! As far as the rest of the book, I absolutely loved that Dexter and Brian finally had their book! As a dedicated Dexter fan the many wonderful possibilities of what could happen if Dexter gave into Brian's repeated requests for brotherly playtime has always intrigued me, making it to the very top position on my Dexter storyline wishlist. No surprise that we had to wait until the final book for this particular wish to come to pass.....it was worth every second of the wait! Naturally this final book will not please everyone, after all saying goodbye to a favorite and dearly loved character is never easy and we all have our opinions on how if at all it should be done. Jeff Lindsay has always been the mastermind the behind Dexter I've grown so attached too over the years, so who am I to second guess his writing genius? I can't and I won't, I choose just to sit back and trust in Jeff to do what he knows best and simply enjoy my last opportunity to immerse myself in the truly addictive world of our favorite serial killer...and that's exactly what I did! If you're a true fan of the Dexter series (the books) then there is no way you can not read this final goodbye to Dexter. Will you love it as much as I did? There's only way way to find out! I was hoping for more action from the kidnapped children since they have a dark side as well. You can't go wrong with this Dexter series. At first I didn't want to read it, I gave it a chance because of a friends recommendation and I do not regret it!!! Be sure to start at the beginning. You want to read these in order. I highly recommend this Jeff Lindsay series. He is an excellent writer full of surprises and fabulous characters. This series is not what you expect at all.
