**Q: how to install grip covers?**
A: Follow the instructions. Heat them up in water as directed-key task. Use the cone, put the oar grip on the cone warmed up, roll down to the desired location. To figure out best location for oar handle you should set in your boat, figure out what your most ideal oar length is for your application, mark the location of the oar lock on the oar handle, then place the grip cover beside the oar and mark the lower end on the oar. Roll your oar grip down the mark.

**Q: Are these grips absorbent?  I don't want them to absorb sweat and river water.**
A: These are closed cell foam so they do not absorb water.  They are a tight fit so you have to heat them in hot water and put soap on the oar handles to get them over oars.  Once on, they are very tight.

The only problem I have with these grips is getting them on the oar.  Instructions call for soaking in hot water for 30 seconds.  I followed instruction and then re-soaked several times.  NO LUCK.  I was ready to cut into little pieces.  As a last resort I used mineral oil, on the oars and in the grip.  Even then you have to push and twist with great effort.  Alas, they are on the oar, fit right, feel right.  GOOD LUCK!!
