The kit I purchased contained a tool to inject the dye, a detection light and freon sniffing tool. I injected 1 ounce of the dye into the system and charged the unit enough to make my compressor turn on. The dye showed under the detection flashlight at the rear of the compressor. I evacuated the freon and replaced 2 o rings at the hose block on the rear of the compressor. I then weighed a charge back into the system. I did see someone said it's oil based.** A: No **Q: What injector tool is recommended for an r134a application?** A: You can use any injector that allows you to pour oil and dye into it and then hook it up to the vehicle. If we are doing a compressor job, once we pour out the shipping oil from the compressor, we will add 1/4 ounce to the bottle of Pag and then measure 2/3 of the system charge of oil and pour it into the compressor suction port, with the remainder going into the drier, inlet side ( side connected to the condenser) Lastly we fill the oil injection bottle on the recovery machine with the mixed oil and dye. **Q: Is this safe or compatible with r-22 or r-410a refrigerants and poe lubricant?** A: It can be used with any refrigerant, it is a Dye, dont need much, as long it is used with recommended oil of the system. **Q: can you use this in the new a/c refrigerant r1234yf ?** A: not sure. We don't see too many of those right now. We use mobile service to do those for us.
