Review: A little bag that holds a lot. - Great for carry-on I purchased this Rockland 22" duffel bag with wheels because I have had a good experience with them. My previous Rockland 22" duffel bags were purchased elsewhere in 2015. The bag was carried on and fit in the overhead bin of the plane perfectly. I like to travel with Delta and use them as our carry-on with no issues. I did check it a few times due to the amount of luggage I had, and it held up to the flight with no problem. It’s a durable bag. I do like the two front pockets on it too because you can put extra stuff in it like you’re charging cords, earphones, and things you want to get too quickly. I can pack enough clothes, toiletries, a swimsuit, and flip-flops for a seven-day trip in the bag. I have larger suitcases, but for the price of checking bags ($35.00), purchasing this one made my trip easy by not needing to check a bag. The wheels are strong and held up well. IF you are trying to run, your bag may wobble unless it is complete and balanced. I also looked at many different bags like this, but many of them didn’t have the shoulder strap I like. Sometimes when I’m in a hurry to get a flight, I just put it over my shoulders like a duffel bag, and I can move faster. Then there are two strong handles so you can carry it upright, the same way a shoulder stat would. Plus, there’s an additional handle, so you can grab it quickly when you first put the bag on the wheels. That might seem like a little thing, but it matters to me if you’re trying to make a flight. Otherwise, pulling them around has not been an issue. I have, however, noticed the wheels on this new bag are just as strong as the ones on the new bag as the ones I had previously. I like the strong wheels because it doesn't fall over when you’re trying to move quickly. The zipper is robust and durable. Furthermore, I didn’t have to worry about it popping open as I traveled. I like the handle too. It’s powerful and it’s extendable when I fly. I want to put the handle in and zip it up so it’s not sticking out of the overhead bin. After many flights across the country, it has lasted for about 10 years. Plus, on several car trips around the states, the inside material of the bag was starting to shed little pieces. I probably would have used them a few more times, but the last time I checked, they opened up the handle, pulled it out, and lifted it with the handle. In the end, it wouldn’t go back in anymore. I think 10 years is a long time for a piece of luggage to last if you use it a lot. Finally, there were little pieces that were falling off the inside of the bag, and it was just starting to happen, but it was my last trip with this bag.

I would often use it to attach blankets or jackets to the outside. I like the outside pockets. We used it for medical supplies and some medical equipment. It fit alot of stuff. Seems finally started giving at the zippers from stuffing it so full. And the bottom started getting tiny holes. I wish they made a 25 inch also and more colors in the larger sizes. Loved it.

**Q: Do you think the compartment would be big enough to fit a motorcycle helmet size M ?**
A: It is roomy however I have only tried a ski helmet, that works.

**Q: Is this water resistant at all?**
A: Yes, the fabric has a polymer-type backing but is still flexible and seems to be of good quality. The zipper areas would probably let in some water in a downpour.

**Q: Is the 22" acceptable as a carry-on for most airlines?**
A: Yes it should be. As long as you paid for it, included on/with your ticket. Totally depends on the airline as well some are making you size your bag at the gate and if it doesn’t fit in the sizer they will charge you at the gate an additional amount usually $100 per bag that doesn’t fit. Always cheaper to buy it online prior. Check size detentions on the airlines carryon section to be sure before you buy.

**Q: Will this bag fit on as a carry on for Spirit airlines ?**
A: I don’t know the acceptable dimensions for Spirit Airlines carryons but this bag is considered oversized for most of not all USairlines checked baggage. Carryon size requirements are usually much smaller than checked bags.

Great for carry-on I purchased this Rockland 22" duffel bag with wheels because I have had a good experience with them. My previous Rockland 22" duffel bags were purchased elsewhere in 2015. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great weekend bag

I bought this bag for 3 night trip to the Smokies. My trip is next month so I haven't used it yet. This is just my first impression and my rating may or may not change once I've gotten some use out of it. When I received this bag is was laid flat. This is great for storage when empty. The bag feels like it's made of what normal duffel bags or backpacks are made of. There is a long, detachable strap so you can carry it over your shoulder. There are two handles on the edges that come together with velcro so it can be carried from the top. There are a couple of plastic buckles that you can put together to keep the bag compact when full. There is also a fabric handle on the side so you can lift it from the side if needed. The zippers and straps feel average. I didn't see or feel any extra reinforcement of the zippers, straps, or seams. So this seems like your average duffel bag with wheels. The bag is about 22.5 inches tall (including wheels) when the telescoping handle isn't in use. When the handle is pulled out the bag is about 41 inches tall including the wheels. The inside of the bag is spacious. There are no inside pockets. There is one zipper inside on the bottom that reveals the hard liner. There are four pockets on the front of the bag. The larger two are 6.5 inches wide and 9 inches deep. The smaller two are on top of the larger ones and are about 7 inches wide and 4.5 inches deep. On the side of the bag there is a zipper that houses the telescoping handle. I like this feature because I can use it like a regular duffel bag and the handle won't get in the way. On the underside of the bag there are two plastic strips that are for preventing the bag from touching the ground when laid flat. For some reason they didn't have anything similar on the side of the bag for when you're using it with wheels. So it's not meant to be stood up on its side. The side of the bag that the wheels are on will sag onto the ground and get dirty, wet, or damaged. All in all, I really like this bag. I can't wait to be able to use it for my trip. The owl print is vibrant and exactly as advertised. There was no weird chemical smell that came from it when I opened it up either. It smelled like "new car". I wouldn't recommend travelling with this bag on an airplane too many times. It doesn't seem like it can put up with too much airport abuse. I don't think you should be wheeling this around the airport for long periods of time, especially since you shouldn't stand it on its side. This is perfect for road trips and wheeling it straight from the car to your hotel room.
