Review: Review of "Tomb Raider: Spore" - The volumes are better than buying individual comics in my opinion. They are much sturdier and you get all the comics released during that period of time. I waited to start reading these as they are supposed to take place after Rise of the Tomb Raider. This first volume came out recently and I finished the game earlier in November. This particular story didn't have much reference to Rise of the Tomb Raider, just the mention of Trinity and an image from one of the first areas as a flashback. I did enjoy the story though. I have all the volumes which were made before Rise of the Tomb Raider and they were great stories as well. I would recommend this to anyone who enjoy the Tomb Raider games.
Review: TR: Spore - Arrived in great condition, no folded pages or pen marks, no missing pages.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ An interesting story but leaves some unanswered questions

This is the first volume of comics continuing the Tomb Raider stories from after the events of Rise of the Tomb Raider game (and presumably leading up to the story of a third, as yet unnamed, future game in the series). The plot is an interesting one, involving a type of mushroom from China rumoured to grant immortality, and coveted by a secret organisation called the Knighthood of the Dark Spore. Lara Croft has become more confident and well skilled by this point, which makes sense considering the experience she would have gained by this point. She also learns a new skill early in this story that becomes useful later on. There are a couple of small criticisms I have though. Firstly, we learn very little about the lore of the mushrooms of immortality. We hear briefly of court magicians of the Han Dynasty claiming to know of the mushrooms' secret locations, but little else. Secondly, the Knighthood of the Dark Spore all suffer from some unnamed affliction that gives them an almost corpse-like appearance. This is a potentially interesting plot point, but as to what this affliction is or why they have it, the story doesn't say. I'm guessing they were hoping the mushrooms would cure them or something but this is just a guess as the story reveals very little about the nature of its antagonists and hardly anything about their motives beyond that they want the mushrooms and are willing to kill for them. So overall, a good story, but it could have revealed more about the nature of what was being sought and of those seeking it.
