Only if the shoe comes up higher than the sock, will it be no-show for THAT shoe pair. Even so, these are cotton, are well-knitted, thin but seemingly sturdy, and at first they fit too snugly -- but then the cotton and the elastic, stretch. Took mine about an hour to stretch, yet see the mark of the elastic.So you'd not want to wear these on a plane until they've stretched enough (feet swell on planes because the seating is badly designed). If you use softener on your heels, these are the perfect socks to wear overnight.They are thin but comfortable, will wear out. Very small and easy to lose though, when they are balled up and thrown in the wash.I actually bought four sets of this for a school fundraiser for the kids to buy family gifts. Socks were a big hit last year, so we wrapped two pair in a cute little baggy and sold them for $1.00 (no profit, just something for them to buy). They snag somewhat easily, and are not cushy or plush at all. I probably should have read the material description, but I was expecting Hue cotton socks, these are somewhere between a sock and a nylon footie.
