Our remote does dim (I didn't read directions so I don't know if it says it) we figured it out by trial. You just have to hold the light button. I don't really care about the dimming function. This is sooo quiet which is awesome, but we have another fan on in our sons room just for noise πŸ˜‚. I feel like I like the fan and it works well and for $120 I didn't think the install was that difficult. Hopefully the next to go as smoothly if not more so! UPDATE: one of them really struggles with the remote. You have to hold it up to it at the right point... Not sure if it is a remote/transmitter issue or wiring because I didn't install that one, but all electrical work so it makes me think remote/transmitter I thought this was fairly easy to install. The hooks helped a ton. I did this by myself. I thought the directions were clear and easy.
