However, having psoriasis has made razor shaving nearly impossible due to skin irritation. This shaver, while not as close as a razor shave, does a relatively good shave with minimum irritation, is easy to clean, with minimal painful pulls of my facial hair. Review: Way better than rotary for shaved head. - I was complaining to Grok and asking it if there were any rotaries which had more space for holding hair as mine would continuously get clogged and need to be emptied a number of times per shave. I have tried FreeBird as well as bulldog and have had the same problems, with FreeBird being the worst of the two for cheap heads and having them go dull extremely quickly. After using the LifeProof, I will not be going back to rotary in the foreseeable future. I have been using it a few weeks now and it is much easier, shaves closer, and I could likely go a month or more without ever cleaning the thing. It is long-lasting, and if something ever happens to this I will simply buy another. First I wash my head in hot water with some soap, then use a gel shaving cream to shave. It shaves my head as smooth as a baby's butt. I normally only have to shave every 2 days. If I happen to miss a few days, first I use a high quality blade razor, the finish up with the Wahl LifeProof **Q: What men's razor or shaver is best for thick coarse facial hair** A: I'm pretty satisfied with this Razor but I think you have to take into consideration how often you shave. The longer your beard the more difficulty you'll have, if I let it go for more than 2-3 days I'll use a beard trimmer first. I've used Norelco products for as long as I can remember but the fancier they got the more poorly they performed and inordinately expensive to maintain ($50.+ for replacement blades recommended 2X yearly). This whole razor cost much less than that and works better read and follow the directions and I think you'll be satisfied. **Q: How well does it work on private areas ?** A: I do not believe that is an appropriate question for this platform. But none the less it last not the greatest on the facial regin I do not like the product. **Q: Is the charger dual voltage 110V/220V?** A: what is the wattage output for these clippers ? I previously used Philips-Norelco triple-head rotary models for several years and recently decided to try something new. At the time of this review, I have been using the Wahl model for about 2 months. PROS: - Gives a good shave, about the same closeness/effectiveness as other electric razors I have used. Nothing special, but it works as well as I need it to. - You'd think the lack of a travel case would be a con, but this shaver is built like the M1 Abrams of razors and does not need a case. It has a standard travel lock feature that prevents activation of the razor by holding the button down for a few seconds. - Great battery life. I have not let the battery run all the way out yet, but I used it for roughly 12 shaves over about 3 weeks in between charges at one point with no issues. - Easy to clean, even just using water. CONS: - It takes nearly twice as long to get a full shave done compared to previous triple-rotary models I have used...can't really explain why. - There is no battery life indicator. You'd think this would be a relatively easy feature to include, but perhaps that is why this model is cheaper than others. It's easy to work around, as the battery life is very good, but it's slightly annoying. Supposedly if the battery does run out, you can charge it enough to get a full shave in about 5 minutes, though I have not tried it myself. - This may just be my own bad luck, but the product was advertised to come with a cleaning brush (it is even shown on the box), and I could not find a brush--or even a place for one--anywhere in the packaging. It looked like it would be a pretty big brush for an electric shaver and I looked freakin' everywhere for it before I threw out the packaging, but it never turned up. Thankfully I had a couple old ones from other shavers that work fine, so it wasn't a big deal, but it was weird. Again, overall I recommend this product and feel that the pros outweigh the cons.
