Depending on the setting, if ADDS anywhere from 0 (pure water) to 8 oz. of the contents of the bottle to each ONE GALLON of water. The appropriate setting is usually described on the product container. I typically use weed killer at 5 oz. per gallon and it works great. The bottle holds 32 oz. of liquid, which is also one quart or 1/4 gallon or about 1 liter. You can figure out how long a full bottle will last by dividing the two numbers. So for me, 32 oz./5 oz. per gallon = 6.2 gallons of concentrate, and 6.2 gallons / 2 gallons / min = 3.2 minutes of continuous spraying. I can do my whole yard with 3 bottles. Works great. NOT as good as the original version, sadly, but OK. **Q: What is the lowest dilution rate on this sprayer?** A: The lowest is 1 teaspoon and it goes up to 8 ounces. **Q: Can someone actually list all 14 settings available please? The dilution settings are: 1 teaspoon, 1Β½ teaspoon, 2 teaspoons, 1 tablespoon, 4 teaspoons, 1 oz (2 tablespoons), 1Β½ oz (3 tablespoons), 2 oz, 2Β½ oz, 3 oz, 4 oz, 5β…“ oz, 6 oz, 8 oz. The Ortho Dial N Spray Hose End Sprayer has 3 different spray patterns: flat (used for broadcast applications), jet (used for high pressured stream or for high places), and shower (used around vegetation and flowers). **Q: How far does this spray? Could I spray the side of a house? How far up would it get?** A: On the "jet" setting, you might get up to the 2nd story of a house, but that's marginal, You'd be better off renting a pressure washer. For 1-story, you should be fine. Neither of the "spray" settings will go more than a few feet vertically, though, so you'd only be covering a few square feet at a time where the jet hits the house. Other answers to your question seem to be from people who got bad units, or they are using them improperly. Mine works OK. Not great, but for this price, I haven't found anything better.
