I did not want to stretch the bottom portion (not zippered). Since I was at it, 3 cans (8 ounce) of a popular margarita can will fit and as to the hard stuff, I was able to fit three 1/2 pints (200 ML) inside of it too. Three different makes and shapes. They fit the bill and fit in the location perfectly and secure. The pouch is the perfect size for a small combat/survival shovel. There might be enough room for a water bottle that is smaller than a 1 quart/1 liter. Sawyer water filtration kit would fit perfectly, with the bladders. The color is what takes the one star away. It isn't black black. It is like an extremely dark gray. Would really be just a half star but since it in't perfect, it gets the whole star. Overall, I would recommend this product if someone was wanting to add a pouch to a molle backpack.
