NuvoTP232 Pendant Track Adapter

I turned some cheap “clamp lamp” work lights into track-pendants with these. See pics. Please note I also added strain relief deviceson the light-socket end of these devices. My electrical light box in my kitchen was off-centered and because I have concrete ceilings in my condo, you couldn’t just move it to the center so I had to install track lighting. I went with a H-track and wanted pendant lights over my kitchen island. All the pendants that come pre-made for a H-track however were ugly and not what I wanted. I bought the regular ceiling-mount pendant lights that I loved, cut the ceiling mount part off from the top of each of them, cut the cord to the length I wanted and then stripped back the green, black, and white wires and connected them to these little adapters. Was SO happy when they worked and they look gorgeous!

These are perfect for hanging pendant lights front and H track bar.

This did the trick for my track lighting pendants. I cut the wires to length, which requires some careful work or they'll be too short. The wire nuts and wires fit inside the housing well enough. There is a set screw to hold the main wire from your fixture in place. The set screw is plastic and has a proprietary slot for tightening. I had to use one side of a pair of needle nose pliers to tighten it because no other tool would fit - no screwdriver, no Allen wrench, etc. Kind of a wonky solution but it worked. I had to be very careful not to wallow out the slot with the pliers. The on/off switch is a good thing to have but since it's track lighting I probably won't turn them off - it's too high to reach unless I'm on a ladder. I'd probably buy again.

We already had unused pendant lights from a previous project, but they were not designed to work in a track. These adapters were very easy to use and allowed us to utilize those pendant lights in our new H track. I did have to drill out the hole in the end of the adapter to three 8s inch, which allowed the existing pendant light rod to thread right in. Worked perfectly and they look great. Very happy with this purchase… Save us from having to purchase new pendant lights for our new project.

I ordered these adapters to convert 2 pendant lights. All the pieces you need are included. These adapters just come in a bag with no directions, but it’s pretty simple to figure it out. Black to black, white to white and green to green. The only piece I couldn’t figure out was the little clear plastic oval. It looks like some kind of wire harness, but I didn’t need it. There is plenty of room inside to store the wires. There is an on/off right on the adapter. There is also a spring latch that locks the adapter into the track. I would definitely order these again. They are a great value for the price. You can take a cheap direct wire light and convert it for track lighting for half the price of buying a traditional track light.
