At first glance you might wonder how this cutter can even cut through cardboard but if used correctly in a sawing vs slicing motion it works amazingly **Q: On the Small Auto Retracting does the blade stay extended when it's already "hooked on" and being pulled in a cutting motion inside cardboard?** A: I believe with this particular one, no. You have to keep your thumb on it to keep the blade out even while cutting. **Q: Can i bring it through tsa?** A: I don't know but i don't think so. This is a cutter. It quickly cuts through tape, plastic zip ties as well as cardboard and paper board.The steel “blade” is wonderful and safe to use since it cannot cut your skin like a knife or box cutter can. That also means it never gets dull the way that razor blades do so it doesn’t need frequent replacements like an ordinary box cutter. Makes every day life much easier. The handles feel a little flimsy but I like how thick it is as opposed to other box cutters. The thicker handle gives me better leverage as I have fairly smaller hands (5’1 person here).
